I had my interview on the 20th of feb 2009. Everything went pretty smooth apart from at the end the guy interviewing me said I am missing my fiance's tax returns. He said not to worry as I won't need to go back to the embassy. He gave me some paper with the relevent actions I need to take ticked. One was please provide the tax return form and the other was please enclose your passport. The guy at the interview was acting like I would be issued my visa. But I'm now in mixed mind. I'm unsure if I will now or if they will deny me. The tax return forms they wan't are for 2007. But in 2007 my fiance's income didn't meet the requirements. So now I'm really worried they will fail me :( If I had them with me yesterday I know 100% the guy would have just given me the visa there and then. But now it says it will be reviewed once again by someone. Do you think I should also hand in her 2006 returns as she met the requirements that year. Should I add the most recent pay stubs from her new job (they don't have any from that job.)

If you can get her 2008 return (even if it hasn't yet been filed) and those pay stubs, that should complete the consulate's file satisfactorily.

Ok will do. Although her 2008 won't be so good either. It's only in 2009 she started her full time job. Before that it was just part time.

Leaving out a document will get this result every time. Now they have specifically asked for the 2007 return, you need to provide the 2007 return. If you can, and it helps, include the 2008 return, if they are not ready yet, GET THEM READY. Also add recent check stubs. They WILL go by current income first, if you document it. Check stubs, employment letter and 2008 tax return should do it. If all else is OK, then 2007 taxes should mean nothing except you provided what they asked.

If you can get her 2008 return (even if it hasn't yet been filed) and those pay stubs, that should complete the consulate's file satisfactorily.

Repeat...they have specifically ASKED for 2007. Give it to them or you will be rejected again. Also include 2008 AND Current income information and documentation, do not leave out the 2007 return.

Thanks guys. Well her current financial situation meets all the requirements. It's just that the 2007 and 2008 returns do not. I am of course sending the 2007 as asked. But I'm also going to add 2006 and her recent pay stubs for her new full time job. The guy on the phone at the embassy said. if they are also asking for you to post off your passport it probably means they will issue you with your visa. So I hope he's right. This is really stressfull. :s Time apart is getting to us now I think.
