My lawyer is saying to fill out a G-325A and include it in the N-400 application that I am mailing in. I dont think he is right and I dont think it is needed. I read the whole guide, the n-400 instructions and the document checklist and the only mention of the G-325 is on the document checklist where it says if you are applying for naturalization due to military service then you need to include a G-325B.

What do you guys think? Should I fill it out and include it or not?

When I first looked at that ten page N-400, didn't we already answer a lot of these questions? Sure enough, on the I-485/G-325A that I had on my computer, so copied and pasted a lot of that information directly unto the N-400 with some updating. We spend a lot of time looking up those dates, addresses, etc. This made filling out the N-400 easier and kept everything consistent. In that way these old forms were useful, but we didn't include those forms with the N-400, they already have them.

Same thing with all the evidence requested, we already sent that in, most of it twice. Ha, with those question at the end, could only wonder how some of our politicians and even Emilio would have answered those in overthrowing our government.

It's like you have never dealt with the USCIS before.

Definetely NO.you don't need to send G-325A with N-400.. actually you don't need a lawyer to send N-400 also.

since the begining i always had a lawyer till i got my 10 years green card.. but for N-400, i don't need a lawyer, that's so easy

you just need to send some documents with N-400. that's it

lawyer?? fire him, lol. Ya I used a lawyer to file for our Cr-1, and yes she was fine, but what a waste of $$$, why hadn't I found VJ earlier!! I completed the Naturalization process in Dec 08, didn't include a G-325A. The instructions for the N400 are pretty straight forward, took me and my simple male brain like 20 min to fill out!! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

thanks everyone for all the great answers. I'm basically not submitting a G-325A with my app because i know its not needed. I've read the checklists and i know i dont need to include it. My lawyer is obviously wrong. Either way it cost me nothing to have him just review the application because I have prepaid legal through work. :)

I hired a very good attorney when I first brought my wife here, guy wrote many tech articles and signed a contract for a fixed fee. With work, trying to spend time with my wife, was quite a load to learn besides everything else, he did a very good job for us and was pleased to pay his bill. Sill had to do a lot of work gathering the evidence, and didn't know my wife had to go to her police department to get a piece of paper that she didn't commit any crimes, stuff like that. Also read all the forms to see how he answered the questions that threw my brain for a loop. When it came to the I-751 and N-400, he said he would review our forms, but no need to hire him to submit them, did that for free, we developed a close relationship.

Just have to say, there is at least one good attorney out there, with problems with the I-751 and even our oath letter, advised me he was helpless, but to contact my senator where another working relationship was developed. Even when you do everything right, still run into problems.
