Flipping K3 interview date to IR1/CR1 interview...

Hi all,

I am in a very peculiar situation right now. My wife's K3 interview has been scheduled for Mar 18. Her IR1 case at NVC was completed on Feb 10. After I requested NVC to send her completed IR1 papers to the consulate after being advised so from the consulate (consulate asked her to request NVC), her IR1 papers were sent to consulate from NVC on Feb 19 and is expected to reach consulate on Feb 24. She has emailed the consulate yesterday to flip her K3 interview to IR1 interview on Mar 18, but has not received any response from the consulate. I do not know what to do at this present juncture and I am in an dilemma regarding this peculiar situation. Will the consulate conduct her K3 interview as scheduled on Mar 18 or will they wait till she gets a appointment date for IR1 ? She was unable to get an appointment date for IR1 for Mar and is waiting for an date in April. Any advice is appreciated.

Dont worry as long as your wife's CR1 file is at consulate even 1 day before her k3 interview they will convert it to cr1. By the way what consulate is it?

Same as your's waithatter. I do not know how to go about from here now onwards. I know that she has to submit documents for her k3 interview 7-10 days in advance. But since her situation has changed what documents does she need to submit and what is expected of her from the consulate ? I have now clue to the ongoing situation ! Step by step advice is welcome.

Great! I am surprise that mumbai consulate actually requested your cr1 file from NVC. That's nice. I tried doing that but unfortunatley they told me they cant request file from NVC. n e ways you have two option from here out. First of all, Do you know if your cr1 file has reached mumbai consulate? if so, then only submit passport copy and k3 interview letter then tell VFS that rest of the documents will be carried with her for interview. Second thing you can do is submit all the required k3 documents then at time of interview tell them to perform cr1 interview in her k3 interview date. To know which documents to submit for k3 at VFS visit "Asian" under Regional forum, there is specific thread made by sanket regarding k3 documents.
