Nadya.

If I understand your question, you want to know if after advance parole (being allowed to leave the US and travel abroad - then returning to the US without a status change), your visa petition can still be denied? Advance parole comes after the visa is granted - so no. But it is possible, though not likely, that you could still be denied a green card after getting the visa and AP.

Ah, different AP - I knew I was missing something  The answer is still yes, but unlikely if your paperwork was complete and correct. Sometimes the delay is caused by the same or a similar name turning up during a name check or something. It takes a little longer to sort out if that happens, and sometimes requires more information. Don't be too discouraged by it, so long as everybody has a clean record, and all relevant information was disclosed.

to have case with correct info and not get RFE or something like this, we have hired a lawyer.. and thought that we could go through this long process without problems.. but right now you can see it doesn't matter if you have lawyer or not.

True. Lawyers usually just charge a lot of money, and don't really add too much value to a K visa from what I can tell. DId you get an RFE for something specific?

You really ought to check the other thread on this Joe. There are answers to your present question there, and more besides.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Did you post a link to the other thread? I looked quickly over this one, but didn't find it.

Edited to say that I thought 2 days to 2 weeks was the standard answer for NVC processing. Ours was done in days, but they don't promise that, right?

Yes the link to the other thread is the second post in this one.

They don't promise it for sure, they say a couple of weeks but on the whole the average time is a day or two.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
