well, here we go again.... like many of you out there, we also received the BAD NEWS today...our case is now in "Administrative Processing" at the NVC.... There goes another 2 months of waiting time before even getting to the Embassy level.....

It's a very sad day for us..... :(

Thanks for the support....I was reading that thread...but still, it's of no comfort...I am still here, my fiancee and our little son are still in Ukraine and I am missing the best years of his life....today Nadia has told me that he started walking by himself... but I couldn't be there to see it.. :(

Mar 9, 2009 - Called NVC and found out our K3 is in "administrative processing"

Apr 6, 2009 - OUT OF A.P. !!! File being sent to Kiev !

May 5, 2009 - K3 interview in Kiev! APPROVED !!!

July 12, 2009 - ARRIVAL IN USA !!!

Does anyone know what gives with this? A couple of my good friends from VJ have had this happen recently, it just never seemed to be a problem until late in 2008, early 2009. Has anyone discovered what is going on? I feel bad for anyone caught up in this, is this something we can all look forward to in the future? I mean, I don't understand. A year ago VSC was by far ahead of CSC in processing petitions, the the trend reversed, the VSC starts to get caught up again and now this. I have only been on this site a year or so but it seems there is some sort of chronic malady with the system, there just doesn't seem to be a seamless and well run operation and there should be, I mean this isn't rocket surgery!

Thank you for your words of support. I try to be in Ukraine as much as I can...last year alone, I was there 4 times...in one occasion it was a 3 day weekend just for our son's 1st birthday....

I am starting to wonder if I should start considering moving there until this entire case is resolved...

I was told at the interview it was random. Random. She had a stack of paper she was reading through, and said ..'oh I see you were at NVC for quite a while, in random checks"

I never in my life wished so much I could read upside down!

Kim and Russ were stuck there for three weeks back in September, and then it seemed a great many from around November onward ended up there. 53 days added to my wait sure did not impress me much.

There isn't anything to say so, but it seems to me a percentage of cases are being set aside and subjected to further scrutiny. I guess we just drew

the short straw.

All the waiting is not nice at all, but it does eventually end. It probably won't take longer than 45-50 days, so I don't think you really need to start planning your move to Ukraine. It'll be done and over with and, so far, we've not noticed that AP has any impact to the outcome of the interview.

I strongly advise you start spamming the thread cdneh linked you to. It helps, at least a tiny bit. ;)

Interview Date: April 8th 2009, 10:30 - APPROVED!

K-1 Visa Received: April 9th 2009

POE: Aug 8th 2009, Minneapolis

Wedding: Aug 28th 2009

You must be missing your little family very much then, so I understand that pointing you to a thread where others are in the same situation would be cold comfort then Joe.

I am sorry to read you fell into the black hole at NVC. It all seems so pointless to me, after approval why is this necessary? I don't understand why they need to put peoples lives on hold. They can't even deny the case, so why? That is one question I would like someone at NVC to answer, but we never did have any luck with that. We have filed a FOIA request, which I know takes ages, but I still want to know.

I am positively sure the documentation will eventually make it to the US Embassy in Ukraine... the waiting game is what really makes you wonder....we'll make it and I am sure of it. Until then, I am fortunate enough that nadia is being extremely supportive.

i think they are meeting quotas for k visas. :unsure:

I hope you are a lucky one that doesnt have to go the full 50-60 days, and that you see your baby very soon

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.
