1-800-375-5283

select options 1->2->6->1 and enter your case number after you'll hear your case status select option 3

and than 2 to be connected directly to VSC

Whoever decide to call them, please post here any information you get, ok?

cheers

There were some steps missing. Here is the correct sequence to get to Vermont. An aside - this is the most ridiculous system ever. Any other sequence take you to a set of operators in Las Angelas that know absolutely NOTHING

1-800-375-5283

1 - For english

2 - Application already filed

6 - Check on status of case or other questions

1 - You know your reciept number

Enter EACXXXXXXXXXX

1 - To confim correct EAC number

Information for case revealed (approved 04/12/3006, notice mailed)

3 - Continue to next step

2 - Haven't gotten a notice mailed to you

1 - If a notice has not been mailed to you

BTW, I am on hold and will provide an update when I learn something

Great!

I´ll be checking to get the information you have!

:)

OK, this just makes me more angry. the lady was nice but said the following:

They do not have record of my case arriving but it may still have arrived but not been entered (I mentioned I was told it was sent a month agow from the Moscow Consulate)

As cases come in they will enter it in the system so that it can be viewed online (I told her that others were not seeing this, have any of you?)

I have to wait 30 days to call again as they do not entertain calls until 30 days have elapsed (how can this be!!! They make a mistake and I'm not even allowed to call escept after 30 days have passed?? I have a cancelled interview. This is absolutely outrageous!!!)

The last thing she said is just unnacceptable. When I return in 10 days from my marrigae in Russia (unnofficial just the vows and party) I am going to call and if they do not accept the call I it will become my full time job making them accountable for their mistake. I can't believe these people.

They can't refuse to take your calls; I got the thirty day nonsense myself, but that 'not entertaining calls' thing is BS; I've called about ten times in the last thirty days. Another person advised me to call weekly.

(And I'm sure you know this but whatever you do, don't mention any ceremonies, unofficial though they may be, to any immigration officials; this has been grounds to deny fiance visas in the past! Have a great trip.)

Thanks! I didn't know that and might have tripped up. Proves once again how valuable it is when we get together like this to share information.

I have no direct experience of this, but I've heard some horror stories about situations like that here on VJ. I gather they occasionally decide that unofficial ceremonies qualify as weddings, and things can get messy. Best to be on the safe side!

Well.. I don´t know what to think.

If they don´t have your case there, it makes sense that it hasn´t been updated online.

But the lady told me yesterday that my case is in vermont.

So why they don´t update my status?

If my case is there and people who applied last week got the RFE sent to them, what else do they need to send me the damn thing?

I´m calling them again today.

I also spoke with VSC early this morning.

She first told me my case was approved back in April and asked if I had received the notice. I told her that I had and the Moscow embassy told me four weeks ago that my case was being returned due to the IMBRA recall.

She then put me on hold only to come back and say that all recalled petitions will eventually receive an RFE once they receive the case file back.

I told her that I spoke with the NVC last Friday and they told me it was sent to USCIS on June 9. She put me on hold again and came back after a few minutes to tell me that they still hadn't received it. I asked if it normally takes 10 days to send something from New Hampshire (NVC) to Vermont. She didn't really respond and suggested I call back in a week.

There are many things that could be going on that whould cause us not to accept what they say at face value:

1. Your person had access to an unprocessed pile and took the initiative to look whereas my person did not

2. My person is wrong about my case NOT being there.

3. My person was told the recieved cases were being entered but the are in actuality not (she seemed cynical as she said this)

4. The will be entered but they haven't gotten around to it due to the backlog

5. Even that they lie to get us off the phone - who knows?

The bottom line is this is a mess and the people there are probably tired, overworked, and/or probably just apathetic. I only get one sense from all this and that is that the system is broken and the people in USCIS could care less about doing the right thing or the fact that they are monkeying with peoples lives and dreams.

This is why I wonder if we should really be chasing after our U.S. Senators and Representatives with the same ferocity that we harass the USCIS operators. One would think that they have a bigger bat to swing than the operators. I have written both of mine................unfortunately, I live in a state represented by Clinton and Schumer so I'm not sure how much good it is going to do.

I called the again and this time the person who answered wouldn´t answer my questions because I´m the beneficiary.

I think I can find out at least one thing. They told me my file is back there. But I haven´t been updated. And they said they would, right?

So let´s hear what they´ll say about that.

My guess is that the recalled are all in a pile that no one touched, and I wanna know why, since we applied way before people getting RFEs.

I´ll try and get my fiancée to call.

Ok. Just talked to my fiancée and I don´t know if she´ll have a chance to call VSC before 18h.

Is there any chance that one of you petitioners, with the recalled case back in Vermont would call them and ask what is going on?

What´s the deal with no one with NOA2 getting RFE while people who just got there last week are getting theirs?

How far in the line are we?

Please.

My fiance talked to VSC earlier today and was told that they hadn't gotten to our petition yet because it's not marked as "back and RFE sent" in the system, but not to be too concerned that it isn't in the system yet. They'll look into it and call him back in a bit...

Not sure what help that is, but I suppose we might get some answers if we actually get a call back.

That would be good. Right now my biggest concern is that my case is not back in the system yet...

Also, my fiance was originally told that the petition wasn't back yet, but when he explained that it was sent back from Montreal in early May, they agreed that it would be very odd if it wasn't already in the building since they get stuff from Montreal daily. That's when they said they'd look into it more... I hope they call him back with more information today!

I got an email from NVC on May24th saying they returned my application to VSC, and the lady on the phone told me yesterday they have it back, but it only got that last week.

Even if that´s true, why they didn´t they put into the system?
