Hi everyone,

I filed an I-129F for my fiancee on October 29th, and I never received the NOA1 at my address here in Merida. I didn't realize it at the time but the embassy that I put on the form was the Merida consulate, not knowing that the Merida consulate doesn't do fiancee interviews (a SEVERE lack of research on my part). Will they know to send it to the Ciudad Juarez embassy? I just got an email today that they approved the I-129F petition and they sent the approval notice (yay!). Will it still be ok if I don't receive the NOA2 in the mail but contact Juarez to make sure they get the approval?

One more thing, I didn't make enough money last year to be my fiancee's sponsor, does Ciudad Juarez accept co-sponsors for the affidavit of support?

Thank you!

First of all, congrats on the approval! :DNVC will send it to Juarez automatically. That shouldn't be a problem. Wait about 6 weeks from the NOA2 date to contact the embassy. It takes them about 2 weeks to receive it from the NOA2 date, and about another month for them to send the invitation letter. Once you know they have sent out the invitation letter for the interview you can go to the embassy for the interview anytime. And yes, Juarez does accept co-sponsors. By the way, my fiance is from Merida too ;) Good luck!

NVC will forward your case to Juarez - not to worry.

(By the way - you should be getting your approval notice - NOA2 - which will inform you your case has been forwarded to NVC - who will then forward it to the Consulate/Embassy. NVC will assign your file a new case number which is what Juarez will need should you need to contact them in regard to your case.)

Juarez will accept a co-sponsor.

You guys are awesome, thank you so much for the info, it makes me feel so much better!!!

I'm going home to the US March 5-15 so I can get an affidavit of support (co-sponsor) from one of my relatives (my mom didn't make enough). 6 weeks after the approval date puts us at April 3! This actually went by a lot faster than I expected.

Thank you again!!!
