Just curious, I would like to hear different ideas about what everyone is doing or has done to pass the time until thier fiance comes to the U.S. and how you make it as easy as possible for each other. Currently my fiance and I use Yahoo Messenger with webcam and the free calling that it offers. It is pretty good considering it is a free service but of course it's nothing like physically being together. So if anyone has any good suggestions, fun ideas or anything like that to pass the time, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

We always talk a while when he gets out of work in the USA, then its around 10.30 my time in NL and we talk on MSN with the webcam. I can call him through a cheap number so we do that a couple times a week too.

Thats it..not much more we can do! Alot of emailing of course during the day;) basicly whenever we get a chance to talk to each other we do that!

Good luck with the waiting!

...and I guess my next question would be, how do you delete a topic that you accidentally posted multiple times?

LOL. Hey it is a good topic.

We used pretty much normal communication, telephones and email. Expensive, but it produces trackable "evidence" that can be presented at the interview. Mainly it was our choice because we were both working and with the 7 hour time difference it was difficult to choose a time to "meet" online. We used long distance phone cards, purchased on the internet for our calls which saved lots of money. They also produce a printable "call log" of all calls for interview evidence. :)

I visited her 5 times in the time since we met until she arrived.

We also worked on all our Packet 3 documents. I downloaded packet 3 when I sent the petiition and we got all the documents we needed, got them translated, everything was ready before we got our NOA2. The day the embassy got our case, I made the interview. As it turned out, we never received packet 3 from the consulate, good thing we were prepared and not waiting for someone to send something.

We try to visit each other, but sometimes it's not possible with work, money and US restrictions on how often you can stay/visit.

During those times, we talk every night on the phone, we send text messages. I spend all of my time with my friends at night and work during the day on university projects. If I do have free time, I visit VJ where I feel some support, do some reading or drawing, watch a movie, and count down until the month is over.

It's very very hard.. but others have it harder than myself, being from countries where travel isn't possible, and I also think of that.

Thanks for the advice! I save all of our messenger conversations onto a pindrive. I have them all nice and organized by date and month. I plan on taking that to the interview just in case.

We have already started working on the packet 3 as well and we are really at a stand still point until we are a bit closer to the interview...I sent out the I-129F packet on Feb. 12, only 8 days ago. So we are super prepared, ready and all of that. Just struggling daily with the waiting.

I don't know, I guess we are just going to do the best we can and get used to the waiting :crying:

We depended on Skype.. in addition to the free internet calls w/ webcam you can also get a subscription to get a local number you can call and it connects you to up to 10 different numbers (worldwide) of your choice for free. The subscription was 12.50 for me in the states

We also worked "ahead" on packet three... or correcting the horrible errors our lawyers made on our paperwork!! ...but don't get me started!
