We probably wouldn't have moved to Morocco in the beginning, as we were both broke, but we would have waited a bit, earned as much as we could to start over, and found a place that would take both of us.

I'm the USC.

Is there anyone that married or wanted to marry an immigrant that did not have this discussion?

I agree. If you haven't had this discussion, you haven't thoroughly researched and thought the whole immigration process through.

My fiancé being denied a visa would not deter me from him. It would make life much harder, but we'd find a way through it. I would move to Denmark in an instant if it weren't so expensive to live there. Not to mention I don't speak a word of Danish. We'd probably both relocate to a third country together until we found a solution for whatever reason he was denied for. :)

My husband always said that if it didn't work out then he didn't know what he would do. I don't think he was too keen on moving to Canada.

You know trading the car in for a team of wild huskies isn't always a "fun idea" :P

I don't know what I would do in this situation, as I have 3 kids and my ex-husband has made it very clear that he would never allow them to move out of the country. As much as I love Aldo, I wouldn't be able to just up and leave my kids. A visa denial would be a very very hard scenario!

Apr. 13, 2009-POE JFK Airport, NYC (Temporary 90-day work stamp received)

April 18, 2009-Wedding!!!

If I couldn't have emigrated to CA, I would have left him. No one is worth having to remain in Reading

That's a hard question. You said "cant get a visa for life". That's forever. I would have no trouble living with him in Morocco or anywhere else in the world, but the idea that he could NEVER EVER even visit the US would give me pause. My parents are here and are in no condition to travel. So they'd never meet him, or be with him and our kids together? I'd have to bring the kids here without him just so they could know my folks? and What if our kids wanted to come to school in the US and ultimately settle here? He would be missing out on huge part of who I am and who they will be (I mean our yet to be conceived children!).

If I could be sure eventually he could at least get a tourist visa, I'd go ahead and marry him. But if he were banned from the US for eternity and with absolutely no chance ever, I'd definitely have to think.

Just being honest. I've lived abroad in three different countries for many years, and I was able to put up with many small inconveniences, and even greater restrictions on human rights, solely because I knew I could leave and return to the US. It would be hard to give that up. I don't even think my fiance would be able to ask me to give it up. I certainly wouldn't ask him to give up Morocco.

he will move to pi with me.... :luv:

...infact when he came to visit me in dubai, he could have stayed if not with his commitments at work and his kids. Also, he contemplated moving here while working on the petition..but after much reading in vj, it would have been smarter for him to stay where he is and in the future- we can decide where else we want to stay, if.

Certainly not bilateral agreements between countries, can hop on a plane and go to Colombia or Venezuela without a visa. It took my mother-in-law over a year to get a visa from Colombia to come here for a visit, but she never wants to come back here, this old woman was stripped searched at our airports, I guess it's because she is from Colombia, was so humiliated by that, never wants to come back, even though she enjoyed her visit here. My wife was also stripped searched when she flew from Venezuela to Colombia to visit her mom before coming here. But not when coming directly from Venezuela.

Have a step son in Venezuela that I would like to have him come up, learning about some schemes to get him a visa, but he tried on his own, and impossible. So we just go down and visit them.

They didn't bother my wife when we returned from Colombia last time, but I was with her, she was shaking like a leaf. Think I will have killed a half a dozen of those bastards with my bare hands if they tried. But did send some pretty strong letters to my senator and congressman.
