Big trouble with medical - Please Help!!!

So I have been married a week and have started to fill out the forms,. However today I came across a big hurdle.

I went for my medical few days ago and today went to pick up the results. The doctor informed me everything was fine, but realised he needed to give me a hepatitus B shot before he could sign off the paperwork. Then he informed me that i would need to return for a booster in 2 months and then another in 6 months. He then said he could only sign off my documents after the last booster was given.

I am in shock and cannot believe i have to wait 6 months before I can even begin to process my application for adjustment of status. Has anyone experienced this problem or does anyone know if this is wrong or what I can do.

Thank you

Hi,

From what I know the shoots for Hepatitis are not obligatory, I just did my medical exam and my doc gave me just the Tetanus shoot (the MMR I had it already), and took blood and also skin test for TB. Did you try to call to another doctor just to ask? Anyway even if he gave you the first shoot, you are supposed to receive the envelop from him and do the pack. Again, ask other doctors and keep us update. Good luck!

if the doctor said that he wont give you the resluts before giving the 2nd shot ............. ITS COMPLETELY WRONG. You can ask USCIS & confirm what i am saying. And you need to tell your doctor that you called USCIS and they told you that what he is doing is wrong. While a USCIS recognised civil surgeon does ur tests and gives ur results , he can give u the 1st shot beofre giving u the results and then you can take the 2nd shot anytime. Its no time before 2 months you can take it , thats what is the rule. After I went to my doctor for the test , the office staff gave me 2 optiions , either to take the 1st dose of shots from state health dept ( which was much much cheaper ) or to take it from them. So they prescribed me to the state dept and i brought a paper from the state dept to them to prove that I have taken the shot. After that I got the results. Thus with my sealed envelope I have to submit my vaccination record paper from state department. If you take it from the surgeon, they wd include it in the sealed envelope. And just check whther they are using the updated I-693 form or not. They shd give you the results in a sealed envelope (which you shd not open) and also a cope for you ( which in case USCIS looses it, you can procure another report in sealed envelope to send to uscis, showing the report with you to your surgeon without any fee ) ..... Hope this helps ///

Thankyou, so much. sadly the Civil surgeon that carried out my medical, is refusing to sign my medical until all hep B shots are taken. Although this is wrong I have decided to swallow my pride and have booked in with another civil surgeon, who knows the correct proceedure. After I have got all this out the way, I will try to get my money back from the original doctor. If unsuccessful I shall make a formal complaint against them. I am really upset that they could be so naive and unsure of the correct proceedures. at the same time they were extremely rude to me and never returned my calls and when I asked to speak to the office manager on several occasions, she never made the effort.

Thanks again for your advice.
