Medical Exam

So, even though we havent yet been approved, my fiance is being proactive about the rest of the process before interview and was hoping to get a jumpstart.

Is there any way to know, or does anyone have specifics on what exactly you need done at the medical?

Can we prepare ahead of time with specific vaccination records from personal doctors to simply show the embassy doctor?

I wasnt really sure what to tell her, so I thought I'd post here.

From my understanding, she'll still have to go to one prior to the interview as outlined in the packets, but hoping that we can get any actual exams and such out of the way prior to that.

THANKS!

I have told my fiance to try & get whatever shots he can BEFORE coming here. The way I understand it-these vaccinations are NOT necessary for the K-1, but they will be needed when filing for AOS(adjustment of status). I think if you can get them done now-do it because you will save yourself a lot of money.

Here is the list:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus

Diphtheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

hi :)

at my medical I had only Diphterie -Tetanus and Mumps vaccinations.I didn't have to take Varicella (Chickenpox) because i had that desease as a child. So only this two. It depends on the age. I am 27.

They also test blood and urine, take x-ray of a chest and do overall interview (eyes, ears etc.)

I believe she will need to bring passport photos and vaccination records if she has them. Also she will get a list of doctors from the Embassy so she can choose from that list when she gets her packet.

 that is right-you will need 2(2x2) passport photos as well as a vaccenation supplement. My fiance is going to his doctor next week to get a list of all shots he has already had-and he is also going to get a few of the ones he will need for his AOS.

It will save us a lot of money in the long run

Thanks very much everyone! Its very helpful information.

My finace is going through an embassy outside of her native country (UK) because she is studying, so this information will be very helpful for her to get the records she needs sent over well ahead of time!

Thanks again!
