is I-797C the same as NOA1???

I am going through K-3 visa process and I made my first mailing of the I-130 package about 2 weeks ago. I just received a Notice of Action i-797C, and is it the same as the NOA1 that I need to mail the i-129f. This i-797C is just a receipt notice saying that they got the application, so do I need to keep waiting for the NOA1?

That is your NOA1. If your SO is going to be moving to the US and living here with you, then you should consider sticking on the CR-1 discussion, unless you have a specific need which is why you are going the K-3 route. There has been a lot of discussion on this topic, so read through the forum before you send in your I-129F.

If you look at folks recent timelines. The I-129F and I-30 have been getting approved at the same time. So the time difference is very minimal. NVC has streamlined their processing of the I-130, so the time to completion is just about the same. The K3 will just cost you more money in the end, and it will take you 6 months or so to get your Green Card after you entry the US and apply for and Adjustment of Status. There are many topcis on this exact question in this forum, take a look at posts from 2-3 days ago.
