The NVC has already sent the packet to the Embassy and NOW my lawyer in the Dominican Republic is saying I will get a packet . Is this true and what is in this packet ? She said it is on its way and I should be receiving it any day now. Why am I getting a packet ?

Mybe they mean your interview packet(referred to as the packet 3) on the boards here..its instructions on where to get your medical done, what forms to fill out and bring ect ect

It's standard procedure is this is what the lawyer means

dont freak just yet :)

and if you dont understand something the lawyer tells you...say that, its ok to ask questions :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

You will receive a packet with the letter and instructions for going to Clinica Abreu for medical examination for the visa. You will get the letter for paying visa fees at Banco Popular and the forms that you have to fill out for the consular interview.

The package will arrive to your thru the dominican post office. Don't worry it won't get lost, the Embassay has a contract with them for delivering the packages on time. If you need more info send me a private message.

Good luck
