How long to get Moroccan passport in Morocco?

All of you Moroccans---

How long did it take you to get a passport issued in Morocco? My fiance thinks it will take him only a couple of weeks because that's how long it took him to get his driver's license. It took 5 months for me to get my carte de sejour (residency card) when I was living there, so I'm worried it will take him longer. He wants to wait until we get our NOA2 before he applies, because he has to travel to Zagora to get it.

Depends if there are any issues with it (changing occupation tends to cause issues),and how much extra (bribe) he will pay. I would get it asap - it won't hurt to have it early.

It won't take that long, especially if they know he needs it to get to the States. My last passport there took me 10 days to get it, and then when I wanted to extended I just went to the Passport office in the a3mala Governor office and got it within the hour...

But then again it depends on the city that your fiancee is from. How many application they process and so forth. Passports in Morocco are issued by the ministry of Interior on the local level.

Thanks, that's what he said. He's from Zagora and apparently knows everyone there. He told me it'd be no problem, especially if he greases the wheels a little! So that's good news!
