Moneygall is a small village in County Offaly, Ireland. It has a population of approximately 300 people, has a Roman Catholic church, five shops, a post office, a national school, a police station and two pubs.

President of the United States Barack Obama's great-great-great grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, emigrated from Moneygall to New York City at the age of 19 in 1850 and eventually resettled in Tipton County , Indiana . Kearney 's father had been the village shoemaker, then a wealthy skilled trade.

Hehehehe............I think it was on MSN or yahoo or I dunno exactly where, but last St. Patrick's day there was a list of politicians and all their irish ties.

The Chicago Sun-Times revealed the genealogical link in early September (2007), claiming that the shared ancestors were Mareen and Susannah Duvall, 17th century immigrants from France. The Duvalls are Obama's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, and Cheney's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, the paper said. George W. Bush and Obama, meanwhile, are 10th cousins once removed - linked through a 17th century Massachusetts couple, Samuel Hinckley and Sarah Soole, according to the Sun-Times.
