Marraige Cert

I read in the FAQs that you can quicken the process of obtaining a marraige cert by taking it to the recorders office yourself within 4 days. We are planning on going on a mini honeymoon and will not be back until 5 days after the wedding. We are getting married on the Sat and return late on the Wed. If we went in on the Thursday is there any way they might bend the rules?? Is there any way my fiancee's parents could get it certified in our absence??

You can call your county court and ask about that. I don't know if they will allow your in law to get it

Depends on where you marry.

In the example of a Las-Vegas marriage, yes you can hand carry the executed marriage license back to the clerk's office and walk out with the marriage cert.

Other places may require that they mail it out to you which can take days to weeks to process.

In our case we married at the town hall and the marriage cert showed up in the mail 2 days after the marriage.
