sputum issue!

Hi guys!! i had my medical feb 17-18... second day of my medical was very painful part... I found out that i have mild discrete scar on my lung. Im so devastated. i have to undergo sputum exam next week..i have to cancelled my interview on march 10 kasi 2 months daw ung culture test... pls help me. my fellow vj's meron ba sa inyong nakaexperience ng ganito? or meron ba s ainyo similar din sa case ko... .. thankss!!!

nothing to help...all you need is to stay healthy thats all..

theres some people who experienced that here and theres nothing you can do but wait for 2 months...thats all...if its postive then you will undergo 6 months medication...thats it.

I, myself, went through 3 days of sputum tests two weeks ago and won't know the results till April. Woe is me and you, let's just keep our fingers crossed and pray that all is well!

Hi everyone! my parents will have their interview this coming March 20 for I-130. Those who got inconsistencies in their lungs what steps did you through? I thought once they found out that there's something in your lungs -- you will undergo 3 days of sputum test and they'll give you result if you pass -- then if you don't you will have to wait for 2 months for a culture test result.

I would like to know this as I want to make sure that it make sense for my parents to go to manila a week before the interview. My dad got a history with his lung like 30 years ago and I'm thinking he might go through sputum but hope he'll pass in time for his interview. Hope you guys can clear this up. Thanks!

I had a funny experience during my medical day 2. Before going to St. Luke on the next day for my immunization, I was worried bcoz I did not undergo with that sputum test on my day1, I was worried bcoz they might forget about this and it might affect my interview date bcoz i was thinking that medical is not complete without this test as I read so many post about sputum here already. So, I practiced on how to ask them about it, so, on my day2, before i was immunized, I asked the one incharge if they forgot my sputum test bcoz I cant remember that i undergone this test hehe, she said that il not be immunized if i have chest problem...thanks God my medical was good and when they told me that dvd tape will be open only on my port of entry, thats the time I said to myself that I passed my medical check up bcoz il get the tape in USA already

To those few vjmembers who experienced/experiencing sputum test....dont worry bcoz its a curable illness. Good Luck and God Bless.

Sorry to say its a curable illness, actually I really dont know what Sputum Test really mean is. God Bless and Good Luck to all vjmembers.

You just have to wait for the result.

I hope its negative. If positive, you have to undergo 6-month-treatment and then re-examination before you would have your interview.

I had a Question on this issue, can we just have the test done ahead of the SLMC physical just to have it already in process if the issue arises at the actual physical? What i mean is have the sputum test preformed now since it will be at least a month before my wife will have her physical that would give us 4-6 week head start on the test if it turns out to be needed?

if slec sees an abnormality in the xray, then he will be made to do the 3 day sputum tests. then he needs to wait 2 months for the culture result.

only st lukes performs the sputum tests, they wont accept results from other hospitals so it will be a waste of money to have it done in advance. however, if there is no problem in your wife's xray, then theres no need to do the sputum tests.
