I think it is true - the passport must be valid for at least as long as the visa is valid.

If you are correct that in your husband's country passports are issued for only 6 months at a time, the US consulate there will almost certainly recognize the fact and might provide a visa that is valid for only as long as the passort.

Are you sure about this 6 months at a time thing? And that he can't be issued a passport that is valid for longer than 6 months?

Is it true that at the interview appointment, the non us citizen must show their passport that it is valid for 6 months after the visa is issued? How is that possible...my husbands passport is only issued for 6 months at a time ? Please help me

If your husband's passport is from Egypt it looks like it should be good for 7 years.

yes it's True but my passport is valid for 7 years too ?he might need to go and make a renewal of his passport he will get it in the same say ...It's really QUICK to gte a passport in Cairo I got mine in one day only and I could have the ability of having it at the same day but make sure to go before 12 PM so you can get the passport in the same day
