I haven't read over NVC info in depth yet..

Since our I-130 packet will be forwarded to NVC, and I have already included certified copies of passports, birth certificates, etc. will i have to sumbit again per NVC required documents? It doesn't make sense that I send again something they already have in hand, but stranger things have happened so I thought I'd ask :)

Yes, you will have to submit the originals again regardless of what was sent to USCIS. Good luck

Even though I included all originals document and all with apostile stamps? I didn't send any photocopies, I sent all originals ( I have requested 2-3 of each document we needed). If they ask for yet another packet of all same paperwork then that's going to be real dumb. No wonder their processes take so long if they duplicate the work ...

12/05/11.......................Filed I-751

12/06/11.......................NOA

01/03/12......................BIO

09/10/12..................... Approved

09/21/12..................... Received GC

OBX - just to clarify, when we send our paperwork (marriage cert., BC, etc.) to NVC, they MUST be originals. Right? I have read so many things on here and on NVC that I am back and forth. Some say send originals, some say certified copies are okay. Some people say they sent originals and some say certified copies. I really hate sending anyone originals of anything, but I will if I have to. I asked for an original of my marriage certificate and when I picked it up, it is absolutely 100% identical to the certified copy I have. I'm a little worried about that as if I am supposed to send originals, I would hate for them to think I only sent them a certified copy.

BTW, I know from the Canadian forum that you deserve a HUGE CONGRATS on your progress. I am so happy for you and you truly do give us all hope. Thanks so much for popping in to help those of us just starting. :)

When I posted originals I use that interchangeably with certified copies. There may be a difference in definition from other countries but I was speaking from my experience with the Canadian and US (we married in the US) forms.

When I referred to copies I meant just a photocopy not a certified copy.

The "originals" I sent to NVC were birth certificate (ordered new certified copies from Quebec), divorce decree (obtained from local court house with official seal but it was not the "original"), marriage certificate from North Carolina (this was the original but the extra certified copies we ordered did look exactly the same) police certificate (this was the original from the local RCMP detachment)

While waiting for the I-130 to be approved I ordered extras of all of my documents just to be sure. That way if anything was lost in transit I would not have to wait to replace them.

Hope I haven't confused things further. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions as you travel along.

BTW - congrats on your wedding. (F)

I know II haven't reached NVC yet, but again in preparation just wanted to verify the following

for the IR/CR1 process I am required to send the original documents plus a photocopy of the originals?

Documents to have ready

Attending immigrants biographic page of passport - Done

Long birth certificates - Done

Marriage Certificate - Done

Police Certificate (only for spouse? or for the kids also)

I have the originals fo the MC and BCs, but with regards to the passports, if I send the original passports how does one travel without one? And do the photocopies need to be notarized?
