Most racial or ethnic groups segregate themselves. This cannot be blamed on the "white"groups and you can't force people together in their private lives. I quite often see discrimination against whites in my workplace, but nothing can be said about that. I agree that both sides need to talk about the issue. It's past time to be putting all the blame on any one race. Let's work together to "fix" it.......

yeah, i know a lot about blacks, for a white person. i even dated a few, and thought they were great people. one was an MRI tech that was much younger than me and wanted to have a lot of babies. the other was a schoolteacher that just wanted to "walk on the wild side".

It's normal, when you live in a country racially diverse, like the US, it's normal that racial issues will erupt.

It's all human nature, humans' first instinct is to interact with people that look like them, then comes the other similarities like religion, gender, traditions etc etc etc

The only difference here is when racism takes place as some chopf##s out there don't like a person just because of the color of their skin/religion/gender/"nationality"; one thing is a subconscious preference another a conscious one. Moreover, if the stupid A$$ thinks there is a generalization in regards to race and intelligence and he/she is better because of the mere fact of belonging to a certain ethic group.

What does this have to do with the experience of being black in *this country*

Granted not every black person here was a victim of the slave trade, but I think its pretty obvious that so-called "Black culture" in the US is a relatively new social construct that has its founding basis in racial solidarity arising from the civil rights movement and fallout from the slave trade, rather than in the customs and traditions of a specific, identifiable motherlands. That's the difference as I see it - though not being black myself, my perspective on this can only be a limited one.

you have berbers, ethiopians, bushmen, bantu, ghanians, and pygmies, as 6 genetically different groups. most of the peoples of today's africa are mixtures of the types, or imported. they look about as alike one to another as oranges and lemons and limes and tangerines.

paul, if you were talking about blacks in the US, and about modern constructed culture, you should have said so.
