It has negatively affected my ability to find the money for my husbands visa but no, in general, the economy will not affect the visa process as long as you keep your income above the 125% poverty line for your family.

Applying for visa is not cheap. Be sure that you are above 125% of the poverty line else, find a co-sponsor immediately.

I will be filing soon and was wondering if anyone thinks the state of our economy might somehow negatively affect the visa.

Any thoughts?

I'm wondering about that, too. With this economic downfall that makes thousands of American lost their jobs, wouldn't be immigrants add up to the problem?

I'm so worried if this could affect approval rate... :unsure:

I think it has a different effect. With the state of the economy, approval are faster coz less are filing for visa.

September 24, 2012 - Check cashed
September 26, 2012 - NOA 1 received
October 01, 2012 - Biometrics letter received
October 26, 2012 - Biometrics appt @ 11am
March 1, 2013 - Oathtaking. US citizen finally!!!
