Best way to contact Mumbai Consulate

Has anybody called the Mumbai Consulate? Anyone know the best time to reach them?

I know that e-mailing them is better but I believe I need to speak to a person to discuss the matter of processing the CR-1 on our K-3 date if it arrives there in time.

I tried a few times to call them but I always get busy signal. Any insight is appreciated.

It seems early morning or late evening, is the best times. My fiance has gotten through at those times, but it takes persistence that is for sure.

But the best way to contact is emailing them. mumbaiiv@state.gov They have always gotten back within 24 hours on business days. You should definitely give that a try.

You should also call VFS, they almost always pick up instantly and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are truly great! We've called many times.

Mumbai consulate opens at @ 8:00am but they wont answer any of your question via phone. They only answer question regarding visa between 2:00pm to 4:00pm IST. The number you can call is 011-91-22-23637407. I called y'day and got through in one try without any problem. Sometimes there operators are very rude and hang up on you before you can even ask second question so make sure you talk them more in demanding tone.

The best way is to go there by personally. Sometime they dont pick up phone, sometime they give different answer and sometime they give not relevant information in mail..this is my experience. So, better to go there personally

She just confirmed that its possible to do this, and that the CR-1 case has arrived there (I guess she means the electronic version).

Anyway, I still have an e-mail in with the Consulate asking them what steps we need to take in the case the CR-1 file arrives and is processed on our K-3 date. So waiting for response from them.
