April 2009 - Interview Schedule (Hopeful)

Good afternoon,

Thanks goodness that February is a short month. Apparently, we have not been selected for the March 2009 interview. This means our case will be pushed to April, 2009, if we have found the slot.

Our case has been completed six weeks ago, in the first week of January, 2009.

There is a situation, which someone might be able to post his/her opinion here.

In Thailand, there is a New Year's festival occurred around second week of April, 13th to 15th, for a total of three days. (People will be off work for a 5-day weekend.) The US embassy will be closed for three days as well. A week prior to that week, there is one official holiday as well, (four days off -> there are only 17 business days left for the whole month.)

In this situation, do you think the number of the interviewees will be reduced as well, because there are too many holidays in the month? (The last day Friday of the month, the embassy will be closed.)

Second question -> Is the April 2009 schedule being conducted / selected in the 2nd week of March?

By the first week of April, our case should be approximately 12 weeks old after our completion at NVC. We are on IR-1/CR1. I am uncertain whether this is a normal wait time.

Didn't you get interview date confirmed from NVC when they completed your case ?

As soon as you have confirmed the delivery of the package from NVC to US Embassy in Bangkok,

you can contact US Embassy in Bangkok to find out the status.

Probably total numbers of interviewee for April will be less than usual months because of Songkran, and others.

It seems that they assign limited number of persons per day.

So if they have less working days for the month, total numbers for interview should be less than normal.

If you have the case number, you can check whether it is scheduled or not.

I have heard they don't respond to the other one without the '2'. Every time I have used this one they have responded. The same thing applies though. Subject line should read:

IV Inquiry BNKxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxx = case number

We didn't get out interview date until 13 weeks after case complete at NVC. This seems to be Bangkok specific for some reason. Not sure why they are dragging.

The interview date will not be given after the case has been completed. DABOYZ had been waiting for over three months, until their case went through. I felt that the Bangkok embassy is either busier or slower than the rest of other countries. I hardly see anyone going in within eight weeks. The voice message always stated that we have to wait for eight weeks for further instructions.

I am uncertain whether it is possible that we are not K1 & K3, so, the CR1/IR1 has lower priority. That is my suspicious thought.

As far as DABOYZ, I am very happy for him. Within couple more days, they will be almost ready.

As far as April, there are too many holidays. That's why I think the cases accepted will be very limited. JohnDecka's case has been completed two weeks prior to myself, since Christmas Eve, and he still had not had any news regarding his interview. He should go in before mine.

I dislike this last hurdle. At the same time, I am thinking optimistically that waiting for one more month versus the happiness in years, I can sacrifice for this waiting time. (I do not wish to think that I will be pushing until May. That will be totally sad.)

I called and the operator said that my wife's interview date will be on April 23. I thought it would be earlier since I don't think Indonesian consulate will be that busy. Well, I'm thankful for the date though no more guess work.
