Why are people shocked by her comment?

Hypocrits!!!

She is just stating reality among teenagers. Sex is everywhere, in the internet, tv, movies. She just stated the truth that teenagers are into sex early, nothing is new really.

I love this kind of media reporting. It shows how stupid the people being interviewed are.
Actually, YJ generally shows the mucky mindset of the interviewer rather than the interviewee.

Amazing how much Palin and her family still get so much media attention even after losing the election.

Palin's daughter isn't the main problem when compared to the far greater number poorer girls getting knocked up and the government ends up with the bill.

The media dug into Palin's family from day one since the bad mother label and too busy to be VP were easy to sell.

Like the Obama kids are shoved before the cameras after the Obama's claimed they wanted a low profile.

i agree with you on that..as it was a national major story....

but, i think as an adult..if you want privacy for your baby and yourself, you do not set down for a 2 part interview

She won't run in 2012. She's got the ambition for it - but not the gumption. And likely not the party support either.

perhaps but that is still 2 solid years until commitment... plenty of time for something to happen

No - she ruined her chances with those godawful TV interviews, and with the McCain campaign folks backstabbing her and blaming her for the election loss.

I would hope that there are better Republicans in the party woodwork than her.
