My Interview Experience

Just want to share with you guys my interview experience held last February 18.

My appointment is at 7 am. I arrived at USEM around 5 am. I was exhausted that morning coz I haven't slept since the night before my interview because of various emotions (afraid, excited, happy and full of hope). 6 am came, the guard called us to enter the gate two. That is where I have shown my appointment letter, the one sent by USEM via e-mail. Then the guard checked our bag and instructed me to enter the room for K visa applicants.

I proceeded to ticketing booth wherein I was asked to submit 2 copies of DS156 with 2x2 pictures attached and my signature, 1 copy of DS 156K and 2 copies of DS 157 (one with BDO validation and the other one was an extra copy). The girl noticed, I left a field with no answer. So those who will fill up the DS forms be sure no field is left empty. Put N/A or None if necessary. When I was done filling up those empty boxes I was "again" asked to fall in line. Every move is fast so you really have to pay attention. If you got the wrong 2x2 picture, USEM will ask you to retake picture. The picture should be 2x2, with ears shown, no earings, no necklace.

Those of you who will have their interview, to avoid delay, double check all your forms and 2x2 pictures.

When all my forms are ok, the lady gave me my ticket number where it will be shown on the screen. Before calling my number, the guard instructed to sit on the blue chair and wait for my name to be called for finger scanning. It's almost an hour when I got called and fall in line. Finger Scanning was then so fast. I did not get any problem with that. There are some who took few minutes to redo the scanning. The technique there is rub all your fingers into your palm or tissue before falling in line. In that case, you have already cleaned or cleared up your finger right before you heading to the machine, this is to avoid delay again.

Next, was my number flashed on the screen. This is for the pre-screening. I was asked few question by a Filipina Lady. The questions are: who is your petitioner, what is his job, where does he work, how did you meet him, how many kdis does he have. Then, she asked my bc, nbi, I-134, ITR and W2 of my fiance and few of my picture together with my fiance. She did not asked me to submit the employees certificate and bank statement of my fiance. The wrong thing I realized is that I put all my picture in a medium size album wherein it does not fit the window. So I was not able to submit the entire album. Instead, I just pulled out some of the picture from the album and submit them to the lady behind the window. I think she only asked around less than 10 pictures out of the 43 pictures I brought.

After seeing the pictures, she asked me to go back into my sit and wait for my number to be flashed again. This time it's the consul interview.

In a matter of 10-15 minutes, I saw my number flashed on the screenand I headed to window 31. I was interviewed by a lady whose I think she is in her mid 30's. She was nice. She asked me to raised by right hand. Then, the interview started. She asked my certificate of singleness and again asked the following questions: who is your petitioner, what is his job, how did you meet him, what does he do for a living, did you know he was married before, what is the name of his ex-wife, what is the name of his kids, where does the kids stay?. To my surprise she did not asked for any e-mail, chats, or any documents to prove that we have met in person and that we are have our ongoing relationship. After her numerous questions, I've heard her saying "I can see NO problem with your documents, I would then say you are approved. Wait outside for your name to be called for the payment of your visa delivery". I sat near winder 37 and wait for my name to be called. The guy handed me the pink slip and I immediately headed to Air21 and paid the visa delivery. I think, if I can still remember the amount of delivery is P215.00. I left USEM around 10 am.

With all the above statement, I am happy to say that I passed! I would like to thank the Lord for the blessing He had given to me and guided me. I give Him all the glory and honor. Thank you dear Lord.

To all of my vj family who will going to have their interview, may God bless you. And have a smooth journey.

God bless to everybody :)
