joint sponsor who have not paid the 2008 taxes

WE need a joint sponsor and the people are who are going to be the joint sponsors have not yet paid the 2008 taxes.should we send the papers to the embassy without the copies of the tax papers for the year 2008?they might not be able to pay the taxes soon.

it's not april 15 yet... even if it was and the sponser culd b on extension.

u culd provide 2008 w-2/1099s or any other inc/asset verification, bank stmt?

since it's not yet due they cannot demand 2008 tax returns.

I would not be so certain in stating what the consulate "cannot demand".

Even if your co-sponsor cannot pay the tax due and has filed an extension, they CAN prepare their tax return and submit it, even file it with the IRS without paying the tax. A copy of the return as prepared with supporting documents (1099, 1098, w-2, etc.) would be sufficient. It does not have t be a tax transcript from the IRS if they attach supporting documents.
