Domestic abuse suspects shouldn't be able to keep their guns.

I guess the only problem I can see with this is the "suspect" part of it in that it essentially punishes someone before their guilt has actually been established.

False accusations (esp. rape and/or child molestation) can do a lot of damage to a person's reputation and can be a career-ender in things like law enforcement or teaching.

Even if exonerated - you still have to deal with the whole "there's no smoke without fire" thing.

I would support such action if the "evidence" demonstrates a need.

I suspect something like this might result in more deaths not less as some people can handle the wife walking out but if she has his guns taken away, that could place even more hostility into the situation, when a person already feels he (or she) has been wronged, as both parties usually do.

Imagine the wife is having an affair, divorce proceeding begin, he is booted from the house and has to

pay her and child support.

New boyfriend is now living in his house (not working),,,, telling his kids what to do and living off the Husbands money as Boyfriend is now well stocked with beer and pot.... ( i know a case just like this)

On top of this husband has a restraining order because he yelled at her or slammed his hand on the table when he found out about the affair.

Next thing they take his firearms.

Many people view guns as a life-long purchase, unlike most items one buys and I could see how this could add fuel to an already stoked fire.

This law could lead to more violence, if used routinely.
