Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Intimacy....In/to/me/see...

MrsBuggy, you are more patient then I am and I don't blame you for it driving you nuts - I think I would be on a flight to JA and dragging the man on the plane by his ear, lol

Speaking of this... is anyone planning to fly to Jamaica in order to fly back with their SO? Mine asked me to, since he's never flown before.... but I don't want to use my savings (and vacation) for something that's extra. Just wondering if other people do that.

I think we must be on the same wavelength because I was pondering these very issues and was about to come here and ask questions about visa wait times although I know they vary.

I plan on flying with him even if I have to come back and get him. He has never flown before and will need help at the POE with forms and what not. I'm just trying to decide if I should schedule my trip for the interview to arrive the day before and stay two weeks hoping he can come home with me by the end of it or if I should schedule a short trip for the interview and then try to come back soon to bring him home!

My question was (since I can't remember with everything I've been reading) that I was wondering if you can pay for faster visa delivery or if you do that if it's still up to the embassy to process it and send it off at their own (slow) pace.

Hey Ellis,

Yes that is a good question if there is an expedite service for the Visa delivery, if it is that would be perfect. It seems like the consensus is that it takes 5-7 business days to process and be ready for pick up. Nothing has been easy about this process so I doubt it

5-7 days? Well, that counts me out. I won't have enough vacation to stay there from a couple days before interview, until 5-7 days afterward. Not unless my boss lets me work from "home" for a week.

Man Sus... That's what I REALLY wanna do, but due to money and work... i'll have to stay patient.

I wish I had this option... but I'll be here....patiently... waiting for my SO to bring his butt home!!!

Did he get his ticket and just didn't tell you when he is coming? If he is doing that how is he going to get picked up from the airport.

Actually, I don't know if he has bought his ticket already. He is telling me NOTHING!!

But as far as him getting picked up, he is having one of my very best friends pick him up. AND... she is actually not telling me any specifics! That heffa! :bonk:

Finallly a good word..... ...the embassy admits it has my SO's ds230, it's been there since 12-9!!!!!! now we are still waiting for that interview date.....UGH! But i'm wondering too about the timing of going for interview, can i stay long enough to take that flight back with him??? it's his first too, so i'd love to be there by his side...best flight ever for me! It's seems next to impossible to figure out the plan, so...i'm trying to go with the flow. My work is going flip out when i hand in that time off notice without enough notice....but i've warned them, Love trumps work.....cause i know it will be there when i get back and i'm going to be delegating what can't wait. (healthcare.......never ending work!) Our 2 year anniversary is 4-10.........would be nice to be coming home on that date, or at least be together. (L) culture1

When my SO gets here... will we have to get married here in the states too so that we can get a US marriage certificate? Or will the one we have from Jamaica be sufficient from now on???
