He is in the shower so I wanted to come on and wish Philly good luck today.

He had a nice smooth trip and it is so great to have him here...actually really weird to be with him in the States. We are running out for a bit but I will try to check in later to see the news about Philly.

So excited for you! This is where many of us are waiting to be. :star:

Hope everyone is having a great day today.

I'm enjoying not being in the office. I had training this AM and a dentist appointment this PM. I just switched to a new dentist with several perks:

* Sit in massage chairs while you wait

* Fresh baked cookies in the waiting room

* Full time masseuse on staff to give massages before or after your appointments

* Bottle of sparkling wine for new patients

* Annual whitening for free

* Movie glasses that project a 42 inch screen when you put them on, so you can watch DVDs during long appointments.

I like the perks and the fact that they use the latest technology, but their prices are a bit higher than my last dentist.

November 19, 2007 - Met

November 25, 2008 - Engaged

November 25, 2009 - Married

November 24, 2011 - Baby due!

Hey everyone!

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

This sounds nice and all...but doesn't it defeat the purpose of coming in to the dentist when you have a bunch of cookies and crumbs caked up in your mouth and teeth? :blush: And you're paying for all these added "luxuries"...that's why it is higher than your previous dentist...

A dentist that gives out baked cookies while you wait. Umm are they trying to keep you all with cavities so you can keep coming back?? LOL I like the massage chairs. A lot of people are nervous about seeing the dentist so that would help keep you calm...

Can't wait to hear Dillon's update but I know we probably aren't going to hear from her for a while and who can blame her!

Congrats Marie on your filing....may your process be speedy and smooth!

Hey Lovesponge....quick question for you.....did your SO just drop off his DS-230?? And I remember someone else was asking but how were you able to get an interview date even before he dropped that off?

And finally, I wrote the embassy last Friday asking them to confirm that they received my SOs DS-230 & if we can get an interview date and still no reply....is it time for me to write again and put '2nd request'??

Ells - all your emails should start off with 2nd request. The 1st request triggers the automated message so you need to put 2nd request right off the bat otherwise they ignore them. Yes, I actually read through that automated message one time..... :whistle:

Thanks IW! I sent off the 2nd e-mail yesterday evening and did put 2nd request so I hope we'll hear something soon. I guess I still didn't give them the 5 business days they ask but 4 was close enough! :whistle:

So cute story of the day -

I called DJ this am and woke him up - I kept hearing this rumbling noise and couldn't figure out what it was - when I asked him, he told me that he got a "cat" to deal with the mice at the restaurant - No, he got an 8 week old kitten, and it was sleeping in the curve of his neck and purring!

:luv: Aaawwww....that is sooooo cute! :lol:

LOL - My thought was that now I have no worries with my plans to get a cat - he kept telling me he didn't like them - He just blew that argument out of the water!

My mister didn't like cats either but I kept mentioning in conversations how I liked cats....I used to walk to one of my classes at city college and always stopped to pet this one cat at a house I walk by. I'd be on the phone with him while petting the cat and he decided after a while that he wanted to get me my own cat. So when I went last July, there was my kitten even though he also claimed he didn't like them. However, he really doesn't like the purring sounds....it annoys him but I love purrs. But he definitely likes cats now....both him and his uncle so it was a pretty funny transition! :yes:

Speaking of Cats. Did any of you catch the show "Christian the Lion" on Animal Planet? It was about these two guys who raised a lion in their London Apartment.

4/20/09- now we wait...

8/31/09- approved!!

9/4/09- letter saying they mailed info to kingston

11/16/09 sent DS230 via email

11/18/09 rec email stating interview was scheduled for Dec

11/19/09 sent email asking what day in Dec and they responded Dec 8th!!!!! 2WEEKS

11/20/09 rescheduled to Dec 22 my preference date

12/22/09 Went to JA 12/9 and di ting is postponed until mi kno it's right!!! mi nah rush into nothing mi rather wait forever and kno everyting proper and sort out then rush and bawl lata... Mi kno when mi ting ah happen it ah happen RIGHT suh fah now mi ah wait likkle more...

Hi Wakey! I've heard about that story and seen some of the footage but not the whole show. Was it the one where they ended up releasing him to the savannah and then coming back like a year later to see him?

Did you see the story of the woman who raised a lion cub then gave it to a zoo in the UK - she went back years later, and the lion jumped up and hugged her through the bars, purring and rubbing his head on hers -

Insurance takes care of most of it. A basic appointment would cost me about $5 out of pocket.
