Good morning ladies,

I am sluggish as hell, having took a tylenol pm last night so i could sleep soundly, anyway im tripping on the peanut butter thang, i bought the Jif individual little containers, there are like 6 little containers ]individually sealed, like just enough for a kid to stick some apples or celery or whatever in, or probably enough to make one sandwich with.. if this is gonna be an issue i will leave it, does anyone else know about the peanut butter requirements?

She had Jiff and it was ok BUT...it still caused her to get detained while they found the list and realized it was ok.....Not sure where to get the info....sorry

Sundays in Negril is a live band at Alfreds on the beach, and a local party at Long Bay Beach-

O.k. so at Alfred's on Sunday is this dinner and the band or just the band?? Long Bay Beach is this a club or just an area of Negril??

Alfreds isn't dinner - although they have good food there - Just the band, starting around 10 or so - Long Bay is the public section of the beach -

My suggestion would be - Go up to Ricks in the late afternoon, have a drink, watch the cliff divers - Go a few doors down to LTU Pub for dinner - Strolling musician, little white lights, great food, not expensive - Then grab a cab to the beach and go to Alfreds.

OMG, memories from Alfreds... I love that place.

I know I'm over 20 pages behind, but I had to co-sign this statement. Alfred's is my favorite spot in Negril. I went there 5 separate times during my 3 night trip (just got back tonight)! I probably could save myself cab fare/walking if I just stayed in the rooms there... and I'd get into the Sunday/Tuesday/Friday night shows for free.

Also, someone was posting about going to celebrate her man's bday in May. My SO's birthday is also around Memorial Day weekend and he would love for me to come celebrate it with him, as he's also never had anyone celebrate his bday before. I can't, though, cause I already booked a flight to visit my best friend. However, he'll be surprised when I show up the weekend before his b-day.

Okay... back to page 223 or so.

Dat was me I'm going or at least trying to go for his birthday. Its crazy my family always makes a big deal out of birthdays so its like when mines come you would think its a Public Holiday so to hear my SO say he has never celebrated his birthday I was shocked!!! He say em never had a cake nothing he usually works on his birthday and that's it it has never been a big deal to em. This is why I want to go so bad I really would like to show him what's it like to celebrate his day...

Morning all! I am getting ready to head to a training class all day, so I won't be online

Jamerican - I had thought about it - But I know that right now, I can't do it - the things that scare me about living there year round would be

Hurricanes

Medical care

Corruption

Eye for an Eye justice

Not being able to afford to fly home at the drop of a dime if I needed to

Living here, I know that we could fly back to JA in a second if we were needed - we are both close with our families, and discussed this ALOT - and decided that the best option was for us to be in the US.

You also have to factor in your kids, your house here, if at some point you decided to move to the US, you would still need the income requirement to petition for Michael -

Thanks Sus for your input...oh and NICE TAT!!!

I was thinking of staying for 6 months-a year max....Taking my 9 year old but leaving my 15 year old with granny here in the states.....I would have to work while there so a lot depends on being able to get work.....

I would set up a 1 year lease with a friend of mine to live in my house....ie pay my mortgage....so, still working through all of the obsticles....

That's JaHoney....confirmed what I thought. I won't be getting a tatoo anytime soon. I think the main reason I'm taking my precious time with having kids..I'm dreading the pain. Absolutely dreading the pain. Let me say it again "I do not like pain".

That was a HUGE thing for me....I had a vaginal birth and then delivered by c-section...C-section was BLISSFULLY pain-free, no labour and the painkillers were GREAT!

OK yall, I am at working graveyard and on the westcoast so on here by myself....but I know yall early risers (sus) will be on shortly so check out my newest delima. I am missing My Hubby like crazy and am debating moving to JA for the next year. We have an option on a rental home that is located in a perfect spot on the lane of my good friend (the photographer) and her man....They are trying to link up work for us both (Mike would have to move)... There are so many more details to the story but just wondering if anyone has ever considered doing so....or know of anyone who has and how that affects the process aside from the obvious... I have to make the decision this week so my head is spinning with so many options/possibilities/problems/experiences....

If you do decide to stay I recommend saving as much as you can now. Staying there long term is not cheap. I stayed with my husband years ago (he was working full time, and since I didn't have a work permit I could not work) but I cashed out my savings and we managed. Times definitely got hard but we worked through them.

Think about how long you want to stay and consider the area you'll be staying in. You'll only be able to do 6 months at a time (legally) unless you get married. Will you be bringing your children? If you are then check out the schools and this will be another expense (uniforms/books/shoes/etc). I don't regret doing it, because he and I really got to know one another while I was there. If you have any questions feel free to pm me also. Good luck in your decision.

Sus when I stayed there I bought a RT ticket and extended it twice  at immigration I got a 6 month stamp so it was all good.

Jonesie....I will be getting in touch with you .... I am really wanting to spend that time "not just on vacation" with my husband living day to day before he comes here. I think it will help me understand his adjustment even better and also because my employment situation is that where I can without loosing too much. Thanks for your input also

DaDa you are crazy, you had me cracking up at work when I was reading this. I cant believe you went through all that trouble to be cute in the morning lol. I guess we do some crazy things in the beginning and then after a while we are like whatever.

Whenever I go to JA I usually have the works, Brand new clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses, perfume, Hair weave, Mani, pedi waxing, full body shave the whole nine yards he never seen me in the same outfit twice. In November the economy was kicking my a$$. I painted my nails and toenails myself and did my own hair(which ended in a ponytail) the only thing i did was wax my eyebrows for $8. One night we were getting ready to go out and my SO was like "times ruff een" I was like hell yea when you get here and start working and giving me money for me to pamper myself and I dont do it then you can complain. Ooh I was pissed off he tried to come with me with that "you are beautiful no matter what" story but It was too late I was already pissed.

Wow. If you were to look at my albums from Jamaica on FB, you'll see me sporting the same clothes over & over again. And you will rarely catch me with a manicure or pedicure or salon-done hair. Fortunately the men in my life have not been ones to care about those things.

I do shave & get the eyebrows waxed before each trip, though. I can't do too much, cause Steven needs to know from the get-go that I'm cheap.

That story about waking up to beautify yourself reminded me of A Different World. Whitley did that for a while after she & Dwayne got married, but it didn't last long.

LOL your right I do remember that epsiode. The more I think about it that is exactly how I looked real crazy.. Mines was really short lived. I did it the first time I went to see him in Oct and that was only from Thur-Monday. When I went back in Jan for a week I was over it..
