Congrats Culture on the interview date!

It's a good day for you Portland, a new job and one month to celebrate!

Okay, so I was getting mad at my mister earlier cause I've been calling him all day to make sure he was able to pick up the money I sent with no problem. I saw it was picked up but hadn't heard from him and he wasn't answering his phone which is RARE. After trying about 20 times today, I was getting angry and worried. I was thinking he got robbed on the way out of the bank or something....you know how our minds can cook up some crazy scenarios right?

So, he finally calls me back this evening and immediately started apologizing and saying he knew I was gonna cuss him and said he had to tell me what happened. I said go ahead and he started to explain. He drove to work at his regular early time this morning to be there by 7:00 and parked his car in the usual spot. Since he didn't have a tour in the morning, he snuck out and caught a taxi back to Lucea so he wouldn't get paid for only a half day (oops  ) since it would look like he was there. He got back to Lucea before the bank opened and when it did at 8:30 he went to collect the money. He had his driver's license with him and I think he had his national ID but not sure. This was at National Commercial Bank (NCB) and apparently there have been a lot of money scams lately so they've stepped up their verification process. His license wasn't enough even though he had all the info he needed. He had to take ANOTHER taxi to go back up to his house, get his TRN (taxpayer ID card), some other card (maybe the national ID card) and get back to the bank. The taxi was waiting for him and in his rush to get back to it, left his phone at home. He got back to the bank and showed all 3 forms of ID and once that was done, he said it was a breeze!

He took a taxi back to work and then had a late tour and didn't get home till almost 8:00 when he finally called. So, I'm calm now and he apologized AND thanked me for not only the money, but for giving him his first experience of going into a bank on his own and feeling important. He felt important talking to a guy in a suit & tie. B)

But the reason I'm sharing this is because if anyone sends any money through Senvia where the pick up location is a National Commercial Bank (NCB), then make sure and tell your SO that they need ALL those IDs to pick up the money so they don't have any extra hassle.

Hi JamericanQueen!

Welcome to VJ and thanks for joining in on the Yaardie thread!

Your I-130 was approved quick!! I've been reading over in the CR1 Thread about fast approvals so looks like a good thing for all of us CR1 filers!

You don't have to wait for the I-129...you can continue with the CR1 if you'd like.

HERE is the NVC Process flowchart so you can get an idea of what will be going on.

To answer your questions:

1. What is this DS-230 you are all talking about and do I have to download them to give to Kingston embassy

The DS-230 is the actual Immigrant Visa Application. There are 2 parts to it and the first part will need to be signed by your husband. * Right now you will be dealing with the NVC until they complete your case and forward it to the Kingston embassy.

2. What is the fee for the DS-230 (not sure if thats the right form name)

The fee for the Visa is $400. You will need to pay this before you send off the DS-230.

3. Now am I filing for the CR1/IR1? what is this

It is the Spousal Visa. At your husband's point of entry into the US, he will be stamped for the CR1 if you have been married for less than two years or the IR1 if you have been married for more than two years.

4. Call NVC and they dont have any knowledge of my case? how long does it take

You can call the NVC at (603) 334-0700

Take some time to review the CR1 Guides. They are a great help.

Also, there are NVC shortcuts that have been made from VJ members:

- James's Shortcuts: LINK

- Loto's Guide: LINK

- LingChe's Shortcuts: LINK

Some people who have used the shortcuts have gotten through the NVC process in less than a month!!!

Marlita started a helpful Yaardie NVC thread as well. You can find it HERE.

Jump in on any convos you'd like. You're in a great place and everyone is here to help

- Marie (F)

Thank you Marie this info is really helpful thank thank thank you :dance::dance:

Hi everyone...I did it again. I stayed logged in and I have been out of the house all day.

Honey Walmart has the clear strap bras with deep plunge. They also have a strapless bra for bigger "girls" that actually stays put. My sister and I tried them on and jumped up and down all over the dressing rooms. It did not move an inch. Hit her up b/c I can't remember the name of it. Let me look and see if I can find it.

When I wear it people always comment about how perky they are. One woman I supervise at work even grabbed my breast...and then said OOOPPPsss...I'm so sorry I dont know why I did that...they were just "there". LMAO  Good thing I have a crazy sense of humor.

Jawi I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that, stays logged on and no where near the PC LOL

I'm going to check out Walmart for the bras, I always need new supportive strapless ones.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We finally got an interview date: 5-5-09, 8:30 am. YES! i'm ecstatic for some forward motion.

Culture That's wonderful news CONGRATS!!! blessings continue to flow for the Yardie crew :star:

Hi Kim! Looks like you're gone now.....

Hi Philly, Honey, & Jawi! I'm not sure if I should use your real names or keep the VJ names going.

Hey Ells of course you can call me by my Government LOL

Congrats Culture!!!

Philly your ready for the interview?

Today is our 1 month anniversary..!

Portland Congrats on the , I hope you were able to do something special to celebrate

Girl I'm a ball of nerves about the interview and of course trying not to be, but I know thats natural. I have a massive amount of documentation to carry with me so I will be well prepared. I suppose until the moment I walk in the door of the Embassy I'll resume my confidence and breeze through it. I plan on staying for 2 weeks hoping we can come back together.....

LOL @ DADA girl i am the queen of the matching sets, and i make my lashes tall, make sure my toes are some electric color and im cute, hair and all.. then as the time passed far as the bra and panty sets, i started noticing i could probably be wearing a nap sack and some twine and D, would still say the same thing... " babes yuh look nice"...LOL

I know right. I'm trying to figure out what hairstyle Im going to rock for his birthday... Everytime I go I have a different style so mi sey babe how how would you like me to wear my hair . He said it doesn't matter every style looks good on you because your beautiful. (smile) But what hairstyle did you like best. All he replied. Sigh... then he had the nerve to tell me to wear my REAL hair.. Are you kidding me wear my real hair to JA!!!! You really have lost your mind. I have to battle keeping my weave styles in line let alone my own hair that cant hold a curl for five seconds.. Cha!!! I guess a long wrap will have to work but I was thinking of getting the wrap style with a bang in the front but that migth irriate me too...

Girl every since a few years ago I heard that song match your panties with your bra get your ish together I haven't looked back since.... LOL

DaDa My boo told me the same thing that he got tired of my weaves and wanted to see my natural hair. So for my November trip I got a perm and wrapped my hair(which is pretty long down my back) Girl that ish was cute for the first day. After all the sweatin and carrying on that we did that wrap was in a ponytail after 2 days. I was like damm shouldve wore my weave. :bonk:

LOL Hey I was there in Nov too... I remember when I went in Oct the first year we met. Man oh man did I get off that plane looking super fly. My hair was wrapped and had bounce and I was stunting. For about five good minutes. The humidity was so high that by the time I got to the car my hair was stuck ta mi face...LOL

Quana, where you at with those braid styles, chica?

Dada, i have a chin length wrapped bob and i wore my hair down in January it held up ok, but i know he got tired of seeing hair scarfs and rollers , but hell we past the always cute stage...LOL, then i wore my hair again end of Feb,first of March and with all the rain, we had, i looked a hot mess after the first day...so now i am gonna have to be a diva on a budget....:ranting: damn car!!!!

Ha you mek mi think of something crazy when you say we past the cute stage. Ok so I met my sweetie in July 09 so I went back to see him in Oct 07. Man oh man was I crazy at the time... So get this on the plane ride down there I was dressed in sweatpants and a shirt and had no make up on or earrings and I wore my scarf cuz my hair was wrapped. Well when I landed in JA I ran to the bathroom and did a 360 transformation. I put on this halter top, tight jeans, cute sandals, took the scarf off put on some makeup and earrings and proceeded to customs you know to get checked into the country. You should have seen the faces of some of the people that was on my flight they were like #######!!! I was cracking up so I came out the airport to meet my sweetie looking fresh but I was nervous cause this was only my second time seeing him so I was worried I wouldn’t even know which one was him but arriving 10:00 p.m. at night to JA helped me pick the right one. So I stayed at his yaad. (That is another long story for another day it took everything in him to convince me to do that one) but anyway why when we went to bed I would just lay down and when I thought he was fast asleep then I would run into his bathroom and wrap my hair. About 6:30/7:00 am I would run into the bathroom brush my teeth, wash my face and unwrap my hair put a little on my lips as if I just happen to sleep beautiful all night long.. Whoo when I think back I really LMAO!!!! I did this the whole time I was there So when I went back in Jan I was like the heck with all that we should be comfortable with one another by now (well I still do come out the airport cute) so now the scarf came out and no more jumping up in morning and he would look at me like I lost my mind. I know he was like what happened to my natural beauty queen. He would pick up my scarf and look like what the heck is this???

LOL Dada I @ the airport wardrobe change thats too funny. My Husband realized after our 1st meeting I was a Diva and he knew I was a handful LOL. I just came back from a weekend visit a few weeks back and had 2 large suitcases and a big LV duffel carryon you would think I was staying for a month. At least one was full of food LOL but a Fashionista always has to be prepared "Wink" Even though Hubby and I are way past the cute stage he knows my diva tactics and he always tells me I'm beautiful no matter what  . Even I think I look like :alien: as JA Honey would say LOL.
