hello all!!

appreciate all the love from those that know and those that don't.. i officially moved in to my OWN apt this week.. God has blessed so much.. it feels WONDERFUL

praise report..

i wanted those beds w/ the drawers in the bottom for the girls.. so i went to this store.. they only had ONE headboard but would sell me the display for a 20% discount..COOL

well the cashier gets to the register and messes up and discounts EACH item 2 beds and 2 headbards each 20% off.. she tries to fix it, calls manager who says " it will take too much to void it, just give it to her like that!!!!!!!" I said THANK U JESUS

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!! the cashier kept discouraging him, "u sure", " i don't want to get in trouble" after he left, she whispered.. "i dont even get a discount like that.."

i touched her and said "well let me give u some of this favor!! " LOL

i am telling u God is truly my husband and i don't doubt him cuz he has come thru TOO many times..the ex tries to make things hard.. w/ all this money going toward the move, my oldest broke her glasses. i got glasses and contacts, which he didn't help me w/, yet he is STILL asking me to come back to him ?????

anyway.. just had to share w/ my sistren..

jason.. so good to hear from u.. how are the kids.. u had a son and marla a daugh RIGHT??

oh.. my montego bay peeps.. where is a nice seafood restaurant besides pier one??, like a nice sit down place..

:dance: :dance: That is wonderful :dance: :dance: God is good ALL the time!

I finally signed up for Facebook LOL I will have to work on it in the evening.

Good Morning....afternoon everybody. Just wanted to make sure I thanked you all for your congrats... My computer has been down so not able to post pictures from other ppls computer, soon come though!

Shanette.....Negril vs Ochi.....part of me says Negril because of the beautiful beaches...but the other part of me says it doesn't really matter cause once you are in that moment you will not care where you are! Of my many trips to JA this was the first time I didnt even go to Negril and it was my best trip yet! We spent our last 3 nights up in the country in Hopewell little town called bamboo...cooked on the fire, took cold showers by candlelight, woke to the roosters and goats...it was wonderful...no beach just the top of the mountain....so, saying this to say....it doesn't really matter where you do it.....just that you are with the one you love :yes:(L):luv:

Jamerican: you are really descriptive! You paint a clear picture of your adventures. :star: Thanks. I am just trying to think of doing a renewal of vows ceremony later on down the road. Originally I was gun-ho (sp?) on doing the Vegas thing but then I was sitting thinking why not doing in my SO's home country? Duh? Its way prettier plus all the family is there. Okay well keep any ideas coming my way.... :thumbs:

If you are thinking of Jamaica because his family is there then do it where it is convienent to them....where do they live? I say this because a party in Yard after is way way better IMO than any catered party....we had fried fish, curry chicken, brown stew pork...all kinds of earth vegi's, and to top it off the "wedding" cake was sweet potato pudding...of which I was able to bring a likkle bit home here in the states! Music til the wee morning hours....that is what will be remembered...

That sounds like a GREAT celebration Moira! Just what I had wanted if we were going to have a wedding in JA.

That was my wish to do as a 'unofficial' ceremony following our official one in the U.S. when we could afford to go back there and do it. Since his Grandma died though, I'm not sure we have a real big reason to have a wedding there cause it's only Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and he's only close to a very few....I wanted his Grandma to be present and that was my biggest reason for wanting to do it there and do it JA style. It would still be in the plans if she was here. :(

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At least he didn't have the one that lights up, my cousin used to rock that belt to the Asylum all the time. You couldn't tell him wasn't the ish :lol:
Girl, a few of my males cousins have the belt buckle that SPINS...I was like WHAT DI RASS IS DIS....
oh yeah the belts on spinners.. always wondered do they have to keep spinning it or does it spin on its on??? LOL
:rofl::rofl: Oh Lordy this is one of the funniest convos EVER! :lol:
LOL @ spinning belt buckle!
that girl knew she was dead wrong with the light up grill! LMAO @ blinking red and blue when she smile. you should have gotten that pic :content:
girl jus like ja.. u see some crazy stuff in the dirty south.. people be doing some crazy stuff do their cars, their mouth and whatever else.. i will never forget my brotha.. (20) took off his shoes and started waving them in the air at this club we were in.. i bust out laughing, u gotta advertise ur kicks now????
and girl.. i'll take the tight jeans over this dyam sagging anyday.. I am soo tired of seeing men's boxer shorts!!!!!!!!!
OKAY?!
Hey Everyone
Congrats Jamerican!!! So did you plan to get married this trip or was it just spur of the moment? Thats so exciting! Wish I could more pics from you and Sus' trip. I have never even been on facebook...
Nette, come on and join us....it's addicting on there!
Excuse me please while I vent....and ignore me if you want....I just need to get this out!
My boss just came in and chatters away talking to himself and it makes it hard to concentrate on writing my mid-term paper due in 3 1/2 hours on the DRIEST subject matter EVER! This American Govt stuff makes me want to bang my head against the wall until I pass out!! It's hard enough for me to focus as it is and now my boss had to come in and interrupt me in every way possible! LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH (and a brain please)! :(:wacko::dead::help::help::help::crying::clock:
well ells u are on work time so the boss is also where he should be. i do hope u can finish the project before the time due cause i am rooting for you to complete this course with flying colours
The thing is, I think he does distracting things on purpose because we have a history of him being totally disrespectful. He also had just got in at this time in the afternoon and now he wants to chatter away to HIMSELF but loud enough to be heard out in front where my desk is. He has a habit of having loud conversations next to my desk while I'm on the phone trying to help building tenants....either he does it on purpose because he doesn't respect me (which is very likely based on conversations of his I've overheard in the past) or he's totally oblivious. And considering he interrupted my lunch hour 3 TIMES while I was trying to get the bulk of this paper written and I had to stop what I was doing each time to handle his immediate demands and ate up half my lunch, I don't care that I'm on work time....my PERSONAL time is not respected so I have to get it done when I can.
jakeswife, Nelly, and Ellsinlove, I will be on my way to Jamaica tomorrow morning at 7:00 am. See you'll next Friday.
I was so slammed yesterday I missed this. I'm sending good thoughts and wishes for safe travels and a happy trip!
They live in Mandeville and Kingston, plus the Jamericans here in the states. Idk, I have a lot of different options, plus I'm a planner to the extreme sometimes. Just because this event may be at least two years away, I still want to have some ideas in place. You know?
Eliis: I know but they block everything at work. Its a wonder i can log on here. My comp at home has been dead since forever so I will have to just wait until I can sneak on someone else before i can experience the "Facebook" experience. :crying:
Amen to that!
The worst one I saw was at an outdoor theatre in the park... this one guy was walking around with a spinner necklace. It was an actual car rim that he'd put on a chain... and he kept manually spinning it. Just trifling.
:rofl::rofl: Seriously, what makes these guys think this is cool?? Do they have friends that like to play practical jokes on them or something?? :lol:
philly.. tight ie di style fi di dancers dem.. does he dance?? they be looking soo sexy to me..
Woman you are really tripping me out. You are on work time venting about the boss actually requesting you to do what he pays you for...the NERVE. LMAO...I know the feeling though.
Evening Ladies, Congratulations Jamerican you look so pretty and tropical.
NVC is really moving my case has already been transferred to Kingston so I am gonna give them a few days before I start emailing away :dance:
Woo-Hoo! I can't wait until I'm approved.
I know, it sounds bad that I'm at work venting about not being able to write a paper. But I really don't get any ME time because my boss freaks out about phone coverage on the days that I do try and take a proper lunch. And he has no qualms about calling me or anyone else off of lunch if he wants a question answered RIGHT AWAY. Even stuff that can wait a few minutes....he's just not the kinda guy that will wait for anyone because he thinks everyone should jump at his every whim. I get everything done that he wants me to but I get really irritated that he has no respect for any of his staff cause he's the boss and he's above everyone.
Soon come for your approval! Believe it! :yes:
It's tough being a planner....a person ends up stressing themselves out over every detail....I know cause I have a tendency to do that too. If I had to pick a place, I'd say Negril. Folks from other places sometimes like to visit Negril because for them it's like a little vacation too so they might enjoy that location.
Oh bummer about the computer....I hope you get set up soon!
Still catching up.....
oh jawi my hair is black and alot finer.i am a stay at home mom for now.hopefully i can get up and get to work within a year and a half. how is the wedding arrangement going?
Girl I think all women should be stay at home mothers...IMHO. LOL
I am not sure about the wedding arrangements. I am still thinking about doing a beach ceremony in Florida but A doesn't want anything to happen to me. He is in the overly protective mode right now. When he calls, he tells me to connect my bluetooth headset and he will wait because he doesnt want me to crook the phone between my ear and shoulder. That's my baby though.
That's so sweet (even if it is annoying)! I was on the phone with my mister yesterday while driving to school and we lost connection for some reason. When he finally got hold of me again he yelled, "HONEY! Me tink ya get mash up!" He thought we lost connection cause I got in a car accident and he was freaking out. :bonk::no:
now that sweet and i know the feeling. it's very hard to feel like you can protect ur woman when u are miles away. hubby used to worry about me at 7pm. he hated when i would leave the house or not answer the phone after a few rings.
The crooked phone thing is too precious.
One time Steven called me shortly after 11am. After trying my home, work, and cell phone twice each over 15 minutes, he got VERY worried and called my cousin in Dallas (I'm in Houston) to ask what was going on with me! I thought that was quite over-the-top.
Yeah, sometimes I think they are worse than we are when it comes to worrying. It's cute though! :luv:
ah ells there's one of those tight a***sses in every company. unfortunately he is your boss.
True! He used to be chief engineer at our building and though he's always been the kind of person to throw someone else under the bus to cover his own a$$, he's gotten way worse now that he's the bldg manager. We've had two very good staff members relocate recently because they don't like working for him. I'll probably be next once most of this visa business is out of the way. I want to stay stable until then but soon after, my applications are going out to other agencies.
STILL catching up......
Hello & Good night ladies! I have not been on here in almost a week... lots to catch up on. Hope all is well in VJ land!! My hubby is STILL not here. He is driving me crazy. BUT I do know he will be here soon, cuz friday is the 20th... and his hint was that he'll be here on the 20something. We'll see.
Where IS that man of yours? I'd be getting pretty impatient by now if it was me....I can't wait to hear that he's finally home with you!
Congrats MRS. Reid....
Havensent dont worry about it, shooot only 3 people in my family know I am married everyone just believe that we are engage. I never went into details with too many people about what we were doing, and my family is Jamaican so I already knew what they would say.....
So atleast this way they will get to know A and get used to him around so next year when we remarried, they wont think I am marrying a stranger..
:blink::lol: I can't believe you've been able to keep that on the DL like you have! I kept my relationship a secret from my Dad for the first 10 months until my Mom found a good time to spill the beans. :whistle: It went over surprisingly well and calm! It was an ENORMOUS weight lifted off of me. :thumbs:
Kashi asked me if i ever saw POT..haahhahhaa...
POT as in the stuff you smoke??? Has he ever seen pot? :lol:
Jamerican
Isn't that the truth! I have never stayed in a hotel when I am in JA since a child, I was always with family in deh yard! No inside running water, outhouse, tiefing current and cable LOL, cooking outside and of course the cold showers. My Mom is Haitian so staying in the Bush in Port au Prince was a few degrees worse, current would go out and may not come back till the next day and no one to tief from LOL. Washing in the river men on one side ladies on the other, not to mention the flying cockroaches that stalked the outhouse. :help: Having to go to the market buy the chicken if you didn't breed them and kill it and cook it. I was with family and although I was born here I felt more at home in deh yard and bush! As long as you are with the family and loved ones you don't care about amenities and appreciate the simplicity of it all....... (L)
