hey ladies well i went to the dr today and found out i am 4 weeks and due in november. i also got a referral to a OB/GYN. she was given rave reviews by the a nurse who had her as her physician.i have my OB/GYN appointment in 3weeks. i have also decided to stop job hunting for now but will keep my options open if i get a clerical position that i can handle. i am still doing all that i used to and i don't feel like i am an invalid because i am pregnant i just deal with the symptoms and rest when i need to. i am still taking driving lessons and hopefully will be confident to take the test very soon.i planned to be very active during my pregnancy .

Well it's time to add that baby ticker to your siggy now Mommy. Congratulations again. I totally forgot about starting a new job while pregnant with probation and the lack of FMLA protection. You will do fine. I can't wait to read your latest pregnancy episodes on VJ...I know they will be hilarious.

did u start a new job when u found out where preggers?

 I actually started working at Spiegel when I was about 4 weeks pregnant with my first son. They had originally told me that I would not have FML coverage because I was under a year of employment. However, when the doctor wrote me out of work at 5 months along, they approved the FML time and wished me the best with the rest of the pregnancy. They were a great company to work for. However, I have heard horror stories. I know for a fact my current company WILL not grant FML time for any condition if you have been employed for less than the year requirement.

well that company is great i agree not many companies will extend that kind of courtesy. what horror stories?

Women fighting to keep their jobs and make prenatal appointments...without it counting against their attendance record. My current job will let you take the time but they will not grant FML job protection...so when you come back after delivery if you miss another day of work you could be terminated (at HR discretion though). Women trying to come to work in pain or ill because they just started with the company.

My bonus check got seriously prorated with my second child because I almost lost him and was put on half days until delivery. I went from let's say $3000 to $900 because of my time off from work.

Hey ladies, Jakes I am glad you apt went well how are you feeling?

JaHoney, I am facing the same dilema as you but I think mine is worst so I know how you feel. My entire family is against my wedding. I have an aunt who did 2 K1s and a K3 and they all ended in failed marriages. So of course because of what happened to her, they think all JA men want is a greencard and so on... you know the story. What pisses me off the most is that My Grandmother brought my Grandfather up here and my mother brought my father up here on a family visa and they are still together. I am like what the F@%k. My own sister who I am very close too strait up told me not to marry Ricky beacause he is going to hurt you. I was so hurt I cried for days. I wanted to have a big wedding with all my friends and family but because of that reason I am having a small private ceremony.

F*@k Them all

i am actaully feeling better due to the digestive enzymes i am taking for my gas problems. it hurts when it moves through my abs so i ask the doc if it's ok to take it she gave me the green light.also my hubby is finally coming to grips with the fact that i am preggers for the past 2 days in was too worried to get into the groove of things but when the doc told us our due date he was very pleased and more relax and that's helping me alot not to see him worry about me and baby.

Thats good just take it easy, let him pamper you. Make sure you drink lots of water and keep your feet up. You have the perfect due date right in time for the holidays. check out babycenter.com if you sign up they will email you every week and talk about what your body is going through and what your baby looks like its really great.

well i am sure i will be far from getting that sort of understanding right now in this econony considering everyone is trying to protect their jobs and thus bowing to the mercy of the employer. so why should u keep me on when they are so many options to choose from and i am thinking that i wouldn't impress him so highly that he/she value me more than another person. so if i fall into one of those unusual places where i am still in the game despite my pregnancy i would seriously consider it.

i have been on that site very informative . i signed up with mymonthlycycle.com. it told me my ovulation day and my menstrual days right on the money. i will check it out again thanks. boy i will drink water but judging from the amount of time i go to the bathroom these days i know this is only going to make it worst. i guess i will just put my bed and tv in there to make it easier to go.

Lawny - is it past your bedtime?

mi know, but I'm trying to help Marcel friend out he was blue slipped last week because the information for his medical was not his, but another person (woman)...he did it at Mobay Hope and they saying he has to pay for another medical, I told him absolutely not. The embassy was to call/send a letter to the medical facility. I told him to go down their tomorrow with the note that the embassy gave him. All now the embassy can't have my cousin's passport (2nd one)...sometimes I wonder if any of these people really understand how stressful this process is and are they held accountable for anything mess up

:crying:

Ok so i have been trying to keep busy today with getting caught up at work. I emailed my best best friend in the whole world to let her know about me and Dwayne getting married and she just totally knocked the wind out of my sails, it feels like a kick in the teeth. SHe is saying what the bible has said about being equally yoked and the man being responsible for taking care of his household, she has seen me running back and forth to JA every three months spending my money and is he helping to pay for these trips, is he in a position to help take care of me and the boys, etc... she says she is at the computer crying because she has been holding on to long to this and has been wanting to tell me, and that i need to consult ephesians and talk to god and really listen. I swear, me and her have known each other since grade school and i just want some freaking support from my so called friends, HELL now im crying, and trying to hold it together at work...SHYT...i know my friends dont want to see me hurt and the such but DYAM it seems like every where i turn people are against me from the word go....

SOrry i just needed to vent, guess i will close my door to my office so i can get myself together.. she said she doesnt know about coming to JA but she will be there in spirit and that she has financial issues and two prior engagements back to back in july. You guys have no idea how it feels to feel so PHOCKING abandoned by your closest friends because of who you choose to fall in love with.( or maybe you do) matter of fact i know you do... i dont even know what to say to her, i dont want to feel like i have to defend my decision to her or anyone but dyam she has had my back since day one, she was always the one i ran to when we were kids and i needed a shoulder and now as an adult, #######?? can no one credit me for having phocking common sense because i met a man in another country, and love him.. :crying:

I am so sorry to hear about the negative vibes going on around you. I don't know what to say except that there isn't any decision you can make that will make everyone happy--therefore make yourself happy and the rest will fall in place. We are here for you. Live your life for you. Jah Bless!

Love is a gift and not to be earned, therefore one should never hold any regrets for giving love regardless of the outcome...
