hey ladies well i went to the dr today and found out i am 4 weeks and due in november. i also got a referral to a OB/GYN. she was given rave reviews by the a nurse who had her as her physician.i have my OB/GYN appointment in 3weeks. i have also decided to stop job hunting for now but will keep my options open if i get a clerical position that i can handle. i am still doing all that i used to and i don't feel like i am an invalid because i am pregnant i just deal with the symptoms and rest when i need to. i am still taking driving lessons and hopefully will be confident to take the test very soon.i planned to be very active during my pregnancy .

Jakes, glad you found an OB....now you can go to your appointment and find out that everything is fine and you and the baby are healthy and you can put your mind at ease. Also, I think at this point, you're right in choosing to wait on the job search. This way you won't have to worry about whether or not a new employer will grant you maternity leave and all that. You can spend enough time when the baby is born to bond and not have to immediately get back to work and find childcare for the little one. If you could find some temp clerical work or whatever else you can use your skills in, that might be good to build your work history here and keep you busy as long as you're feeling up for it.

thanks ells i did discuss this with hubby very seriously and we decided that i should just stay home and ride it out. case in point my first appointment is in april at 2pm judging from the fact that i would have been on probation i feel that it might be a negative for me to request the time off and/or be honest about the fact that i am pregnant. i know some employees are not expecting to do special favours for an employee so early in their employment

yes sus..put them on FB cuz i can't see pics on VJ at work but i can on FB.. go figure..

on the other issues//

DNA.. never even crossed my mind, now if Roger had talked like he didnt think one of his children were his, then i would lend an ear, but its his decision on what action he would take.. granted we are about to share a life together but that part is his to deal w/ and me to support whatever direction he goes in..

i don't think any woman would just out of nowhere suggest her man get a DNA test, or i hope not.. if she did mention it, it must have come from him voicing doubts I would think..

ADD.. i once was against it, but now i do believe in medication, but not for YOUNG children, they aren't unfocused, just kids LOL.. my nephew is 8 and UNFORTUNATELY not on meds.. he has been held back in skool the last couple of years and its just cuz the teachers don't have the time to deal w/ him. he is a hand full.. if my sister had the money she could pay for some sort of alternative skool. he does his h/w but he just can't manage in a classroom.. all the disciplining in the world doesnt help..

male OB/GYN.. i had one w/ my second. LOVED HIM.. he was the best, very caring, attentive, held my hand at the delivery.. too bad he was married, i would go look him up LOL

I had male gyno with most of my regular check ups but i really think i am going to feel alot more comfortable with a woman this time. my hubby is very pleased with my decision as well  i guess he would feel much better in the room when i am doing my check ups.

its funny.. w/ my second child.. i had VERY bad morning sickness..at the time i was a pharmacy tech in a warehouse so it was VERY inconvenient to be going to the bathroom while meds are coming down the line LOL.. so i quit.. when i felt well enough to go back to work, i started at this hospital.. worked for about 2 mnths b4 i started showing. sup was like "u didn't tell me u were pregnant" i was like " i didn't know i had to, i do the job just as well as anybody else" LOL i know he was given a hard time for not knowing LOL

but i worked right till the mnth b4 i had steph, and i was such a good worker, I went right back when i was ready to send her to daycare..

so u never know, but u and hubby know what is right for u!!!

Well it's time to add that baby ticker to your siggy now Mommy. Congratulations again. I totally forgot about starting a new job while pregnant with probation and the lack of FMLA protection. You will do fine. I can't wait to read your latest pregnancy episodes on VJ...I know they will be hilarious.

Does anyone have a guesstimate as to how much time it might take to drive from Hanover (Lucea) to Kingston? I wonder if my mister should plan for a 4-5 hour drive or longer....

Hey Ellis , if you leave @ about 5 am or earlier it takes approx 4 hours. My cousin, brother and I used to make that drive all the time but he used to take back roads. Do you plan on taking the highway at all because now that will cut your time considerably.

Honey - you will learn who your real friends are during this process. It took awhile before some of friends true colors showed...the same ones who supported me. They are still surpised Damien and I are together which lets me know they had doubts.

:wow: Mrz Shemmy that is deep, why did I just start humming Friends by Whodini LOL, you remember that song. Friends, how many of us have them? Friends, the ones we can depend on..... I got to find that pic! LOL

:ot: Our show was just a recap- audition show! How could Rupaul do this to us I was so excited to see the final 3 :crying:

Philly - I can write a book about how my friendships have changed the last 5 years. We got most our support from unexpected people.

I'm so upset about our show last night :crying:

Thanks Philly, that's good to know! Yes, I think he'll take the highway...I'm gonna tell him to plan it out ahead of time and ask around about how to get there the fastest. I don't think he'll have a problem getting up earlier to get moving since he's an early bird anyway but I'll definitely mention the earlier, the better. Hopefully he brings someone who has been before so he has help navigating 'town' once he gets there. I also am thinking of suggesting to him to try and get the police certificate part done before his 1:30 appt to drop the form off at the embassy since the police department that handles certs closes at 3:00.

This stuff stresses me out....I just worry about things going wrong and him having to travel all that way again cause he didn't get something done right. It seems this would be so much easier if he could read....I love him no matter what but this is the biggest challenge thus far in our relationship. When I'm not there to help him, I just stress and hope that someone there will help him.
