well shannette. i maybe go with a male ob/gyn but i would like a female.

well i was thinking they can empathize and know more about the symptoms than a man could. hopefully she has a child

jakeswife, thats a good point. i had a male doctor b/c men hate to see women cry and i figure a women doctor would still make me push tears and all

Me too Ryon. My doc was male and every time I whined he gave in to me. And because he has never gone through it himself, he was much more sensitive than the female doc in his office. I've been going to him since I was 18.

Sus - WOW!!! Im love im ooman fi true!!

LOL, Sus. Just messing with ya.

Jakes: I don't mind male doctors. But my OB-GYN is a woman and is really nice. Shes more excited than I am about being pg! I think you need to find a good doctor who you feel comfortable with male or female. Someone who is well-informed too. I shouldn't have to self-diagnose myself off of WebMD!! It may take a few visits but just make sure their nice.

well i am going to a med dr. to get a referral tomorrow so hopefully we can find someone who is not robotic and very understanding

Funny thing, my doctor that delivered my second son was on vacation when i went into labor so her office partner delivered my son, via C section... and then she did his circumcision..well my mother who is getting up in age and is a little nutty at times swears because my doctor who did the circumcison is indian she circumcised him wrong and made his thing crooked, she said it looked like the letter J....LMAO

i told her the doctors ethnicity has nothing to do with how his business turned out, nor the cutting of the skin..but you cant tell her nothing...so i quit trying...LOL

i have had the same doctor ob/gyn for the past 16 years or longer and i believe if i walked in her office and said i was pg she would probably pass out

Sus did they throw shade you way cause you were with a JA man? hell i was treated like that at Sandcastles by the front desk chic, i had email confirmation i would get a second key, the bytch wouldnt give it to me, they would come and knock on the door im talking 745 in the morning sometimes 9 in the morning to clean the rooms im like seriously i felt like i was on punishment and had to vacate the room so they could clean, it was a mess. the guy who was an omelet chef at the grande asked me did i want to go have sex, cause you know thats all us "farrin women" could possibly want....LOL.. i was like WHA????

there were people i was with who complained but for the most part i thought it was ok, a little pricey for what its worth, but ok

Honey, it was the female security - They stopped him EVERY time we walked around to check his band - Even when we were way back by the Jamaicalicious cafe - Then when we had stuff stolen, it took 4 calls and my threatening to come make a scene in the lobby to get a call from security - no follow up the next day AT ALL till I sought them out, then the guy tried to claim that we had been given a written warning for smoking herb in the room (don't smoke that) and basically implied that he would wipe that charge if we dropped the "alleged" claim that items had been stolen - I ripped and blasted to a manager, and will write the tourist board, blast them on trip advisor, etc....

hell some of the stuff i saw going on in the grande, im surprised they tried that.. i have a friend who works security there named Omar, there wasnt any women when i stayed there in April, but yeah i get what your saying and i was so mad when that happened to me at Sandcastles and the front desk staff was so smug, about it i wanted to punch her in the face. D didnt quite pick up on some things until they became blatant, like being overcharged for drinks at some of the local spots,?

valerie did you get Shade when you were there with Ryon?

Morning/Afternoon Yardies!

Morning all! I am home  I got home early this am, it was about 2 am by the time I got in my house, and am here at work ready to go back to sleep.

The trip was good - I linked up with Jamerican, so part of my report will have to wait till she's back - Overall, everything was good and I am now an officially engaged woman = DJ officially proposed on our last morning at sunrise on the beach - Sunset Jamaica Grande was beautiful, but never ever ever again - I will give more details later on, just wanted to say hi before I try to catch up with my nightmare of emails and work!

Welcome back Sus and congrats!!

sorry. mornin ladies i have been MIA for a while cause between the backaches and the pain in my breast and the great exhaustion i had to take it easy and yes i found out this mornin that i am pregnant. well the test is positive.i knew something was up when i missed my period. if everything is ok i conceived on my anniversary in dominica. i miss u guys though especially my night owl nells.

Congrats Jake's!

Island i didnt even notice :hehe:

Jakes that is how i knew i was pregnant, my boobs felt like someone lit a match to them. You are exhausted because this is the first trimester, after the first three months you will start to feel better, and may even catch a burst of energy.

Jakes all the close pins in the world aint gonna stop ya nose from spreading cross yuh face if its meant to be....LOL

it will return to normal size after the baby, you do the close pin thang you might wind up looking like michael jackson

Okay, can someone please explain this nose thing to me??:unsure::blush:

Just keep yourself cute, you'll be fine, hell when was pregnant i never missed a hair appt, you never caught me in sweats and T shirts looking busted, shoot i kept myself together, though i did grow an extra nose but its all good i returned back to normal.. somewhat...LOL

oh yeah my feet went up a half size and didnt return to normal and my boobs never shrank so i went from a B to a D cup, i thought after i nursed they would deflate and they didnt and i didnt even gain that much weight, first kid maybe 20 pounds which i lost and second kid like 8 pounds total, which i lost,

i didnt get fat or fluffier until i stopped moving, and exercising and got sedentary

Honey, you had the kind of pregnancy that makes me jealous!

Helllo Shawn ( waving)

lawny, i will see if i can figure out how to post the link or a pic or something

wedding planning is frustrating, some of my friends are working my nerves... one wants me to reschedule the date cause she is taking her daughter to disneyland in july( aint that some shyt!!!)...LOL

another is newly pregnant... ( sigh)

but i want to do it while the boys are still out of school for the summer

I hear ya on the wedding planning Honey, I kinda want to skip all the hassle, get married in my parents' yard and have a big BBQ & party afterward!

Yu tink mi a toy?

Not a toy....but definitely an A$$HOLE! You must be as ugly on the outside as you are on the inside since you have to go around trying to make people feel bad to make yourself feel whatever it is you need to feel.

well shannette. i maybe go with a male ob/gyn but i would like a female.

well i was thinking they can empathize and know more about the symptoms than a man could. hopefully she has a child

I like that saying about GYNs that says, "a male gyn is like a car mechanic who has never driven a car!" He just doesn't have the parts to understand what's going on there! LOL!

Ells, i was proud of myself for not responding to him, today cause all i did was say hello to the man and he just got all rude and stuff for no apparent reason

ok, far as the nose thing goes, and i could be wrong but in Black women, not all of them but most that I know, myself included when we get pregnant its as if your face spreads and your nose gets bigger, like it spreads across your face or something, some women it looks swollen, i cant explain it, i have tried to explain this theory to my coworkers as well, and then after pregnancy everything kinda returns to normal

Jakeswife, being pregnant is the most beautiful thing in the world. The day the dr. announced to me and my ex- that we were going to have a baby, I was scared, one I had never had a baby before, two you see so many women around you that looked like the cat dragged them out of the bed. Well, I was determine that was not going to be me, even though I was in constant pain. TMI...I have an upside down uterus, and it had to turn it's self up right. I was in constant pain for 3 months. But, I went to the hairdresser every 2 weeks, had my nails done, and I brought beautiful maternity clothes. FYI, one of the designer who design maternity clothes for the stars, also design maternity clothes for Target. I worn maternity skirts, dresses, shorts , pants and cute sexy tops when i was pregnant. My tops were regular tops just brought in a bigger size. I didn't have to retreat to the regular maternity clothes until my 7 or 8 month. I brought so many maternity clothes that my family and ex asked me if I attend to stay pregnant forever.

Jakeswife, I did no housework nor any grocery shopping when I was pregnant, my ex did it all. The only thing I committed to was to continue to work, and he told me that I didn't have to do that, but I was on a career roll.

I am aware that everyone can't or couldn't do the same, but the one thing I was determine was that if i was having his baby, then these 9 mos should be ALL about me and the baby.

Oh, I'd be PISSED too Sus! It's these experiences that could really sour a person on the whole 'tourism in Jamaica' thing. After the few not-so-great experiences we've had in dealing with how we're treated when we go out, I'm getting just as happy to just hang in the yard, patron truly local places and avoid tourist spots and establishments altogether.

Ells, i was proud of myself for not responding to him, today cause all i did was say hello to the man and he just got all rude and stuff for no apparent reason

Well, since he was just looking to stir up some $hit, you did good in ignoring that RUBBISH! I just couldn't stand it today....it's Monday, I'm cranky and that a$$hat only comes on here to be a jerk so I just had to vent!

Okay, so I've never heard of or even noticed such a thing but I just learned something new today. Is anyone else's greatest fear of pregnancy about losing your ninnies after breastfeeding? One girlfriend described hers as 'raisins' after all that and I've been terrified ever since. She even had 'augmentation' after that to get them back to her formerly perky state!

So I just e-mailed the embassy w/my 3RD REQUEST to ask for an appt to drop off the DS230 & included our case # in the subject line (it was always in the e-mail whether or not they chose to look) so hopefully no more excuses and they'll give us a date so we can get moving on this!
