I think i am going to take my daughter to the new Dwayne Rock Johnson movie tonight.

Dillon am sure you answered this question before but are you going to the interview? You must be excited

Yes I am and I leave on Thursday. I am beside myself with excitement...just trying to contain it. Not much longer for you!

That's my girl! My husband and I still laugh about our interview experience. It was like a joke to us and that's what we did from the time we got in line...we laughed at just about every damn thing.

18 hours  Be safe.

Honey, here is an estimate we received from Rondel Village for $2300:

• Marriage officer costs & renewal certificate

• Bouquet for the wife & Boutonniere for the husband

• Table floral arrangement (for signing table)

• Photographer - 24 prints (one roll)

• Beautifully decorated setting by the beach

• Decorated Wedding arch

• On property wedding coordinator

• Two item entrée dinner menu with six side orders - buffet service

• Two tier vanilla wedding cake with fresh flowers on top and your choice of filling

• Seating for 25 with covered chairs for renewal and reception

• 1 bottle of Champagne

• Three Hour Local Bar

• Tax and service charge

That sounds very reasonable Shemmy.

I thought so...cheaper without the local bar.

Morning everyone! TGIF!!

Honey...I got married at the RGD and it cost $150 which included the license, minister, and location. I had the option of the indoor setting or the outdoor one but I chose indoor. It was decorated beautifully with an lighted arch that had flowers as well as a backdrop. Me, Lance, and some close friends and family went out for lunch afterwards.

It was a nice, small wedding with the people who mean the most to us. Later on down the road we plan on having something a bit more lavish for our renewal of vows.

$1650 doesn't seem too bad considering they're wedding planners so their fee is included in that price.

Have you tried checking with any hotels in Ochi?

Marie fill in your timeline I am trying to figure oCut how long the cr1 takes

Afternoon Yardies!

Hi Ladies, I got approved today I am so happy my boo will be home soon

Congrats Lovesponge! Very sorry about the pregnancy though.....sometimes good and bad come together.

I feel you Honey. I'm in the same boat. I don't know if I am so sad because I'm already tired of waiting for USCIS or because I haven't seen A since August. I am used to seeing him every 3 to 4 months since we started dating. I feel like just giving up. I thought that I was going to recover faster than this and that I would be able to get a trip in before going back to work. Well that didn't work out. Now, I don't know when I will be able to go and see him.

I feel like I'm not going to see him until he arrives here. I had to postpone our beach wedding because I can't do the drive/flight to Florida...so I am settling on the courthouse. I'm just ready to drink myself into a stupor and take my pain pill too. I'm not even a drinker.

Our anniversary is July 1st, and I was praying that we would be married on that date. I hate USCIS...I really hate them.

Aawww Jawi, sorry my gyal! Praying for you to keep healing so you can at least make a trip again.

One more thing culture...talking about fustration. My cousin had her interview in January and she still doesn't have her visa, because they can't find her passport. So, she applies for a new passport gets that the end of last month and once again, it was misplaced. She says she's not calling or e-mailing them anymore, because all they're doing is giving her the runaround.

I wonder if and when these agencies will ever have any accountability. They cause a lot of hardship for people and don't even get so much as a slap on the hand.

:ot:

Another Branbury issue - A picked up the blue slip on Tuesday. Andrews can't get him in until the 23rd. Branbury's office said they could get him in yesterday or today. He gets there today and the girl tells him that she needs $3k to "squeeze" him in. He said no way and left.

Would you guys send a FYI to the embassy or just let it be?

:ot2:

Islandwoman how much is this visa worth to him? I know here in the US that would have been unheard of, but isn't that the price of doing business in Jamaica?

I HATE the 'price' of doing business in Jamaica. I'm glad A didn't go along with it because that just encourages that type of 'business' to continue. If more people would stand up and say 'NO', they would have to start conducting themselves in an ethical manner. :protest:

:ot2:

Argh. That sounds frustrating. Sometimes I get so disgusted with the hassle around trying to handle business in Jamaica. My SO & I have a plan to move there after 5-10 years in the States... but I need to see more development first.

You and me both!!

Exactly; my aunts wedding had 250 at the ceremony, we lost count at the reception.

:rofl: I hear that happens!

Island that is BS

he is a registered with the embassy..he can get in trouble..we are not just talking about JA here...

I think he would be losing alot of money if he allows "squeezing" that's his reputation..

awwww LOvesponge..I'm really sorry to hear..bitter/sweet BUT i'm excited hubby soon come..this too shall pass...

I wonder if it's a case where he's not aware his staff is trying to pocket a little extra money on the side?! Either way, I think Island SHOULD report that with the embassy. When they give you an appointment and you show up for it, you should be able to be attended to when they say they will! ACCOUNTABILITY! These businesses/agencies need ACCOUNTABILITY!! *Okay, off my soapbox now....*

Good Morning Ladies, Thanks for the congrats on the approval. I just found out that I am not pregnant though, I started bleeding this morning so I took another test and it was negative. I took 3 tests last weekend and they were all positive??? I called the dr and she said it may be an early loss. Who knows I am a little sad but very happy for the approval.:)

Hello VJ family

Lovesponge I am so sad to hear the news, I worry about you at times, feel better. The approval came just in time. :innocent:

OK, I am current for the week. I am so jealous that Jamerican is in JA, I can not wait till spring comes to Chicago. Tre, the renewing the vows next year sound wonderful. Dance - I am ready to start the 4 day diet, even thou I workout like Damien, I still need to eat better and get ready for my bikini, right Marie! Philly, I am not sure that bananas chips are the devil but starting the group (Dynamic Divas) will work. Jonesie, I have stayed at Sunset and I did not like it, my SO loves the place, but it will be OK for kids.

Mrs.P, I did the Avon walk and it was awesome.

Dillon TIME has come :D , I will pray that you return with good news…..

Shanette, thank you for the positive energy, It was so hard not to log on to VJ (Marie) because it only reminds me of my SO. ….. It is so nice to know that my VJ family feels my pain b/c this week was extremely tuff. It was so bad that I took a boyfriend break. I am not sure if is was depression as Honey stated earlier but I truly had given up like Jawi said. Ryon called to say "are you alright, are you good", then the next day his mother called to say *&^%$!# (It was hard to hear & understand what she said, so I just always agree and say yes mam). But today is a better day! I am keeping the faith! :star:

Congratulation Kimmy on the good grades and Shrew - maybe he can just take a cab to work the one day. I've been missing Portland since she married now! And Classy girl, I love that you are willing to drink for me and jawi……I am coming to MI just to hang with you! Culture - keep praying. Rox, I wish I could go with you to Kingston - have fun for ALL of us.

So I am planning the big spring break trip with Trevor. He has already packed his suitcase and we have 3 weeks to go. I need to find a water park hotel near by so he will think that we are out-of-town.

I hope everyone is ready for the weekend - Last night my mom has been stalking me to take her to the NEW target near the house, by no surprise - it was just like the old target just cleaner!

IMG02307.jpgIMG02308.jpgIMG02314.jpg

Ryon's, your posts make me laugh! I love the random photos! And I'm glad you are keeping the faith with your mister!

That's what I was thinking...but we'll keep quiet till he has his visa.

noOOOO...u need to find out where the lies are coming from..what part of the equation..something is not right..pure BS

YEAH!! What Kimmy says! Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights!!

This visa stuff sucks. I am tired of being treated as if we are second class because we decided t get married first, before we filed.

It does SUCK and I feel your pain! Of course I'm happy the K-1 stuff is moving right along but I still don't think it's right that it should take longer to get a spouse here than a fiance.

Hi Nelly!

I had to make a quick trip to the post office that ended up being a trip to hell. I don't even think I can go into it here. Let's just say I'll never go to the federal bldg post office again! I'll walk the extra 1/2 mile to go to the other post office!:wacko:
