thanks for the SSN info guys :)

Also..those of you that have your husbands with you already..how did you do the car situation??

M and I are on different work schedules. I can pick him up but I go to work like 3 hours before him in another town (from where he works and we live).

He works 3 week days and sat and sunday

Sat and Sun are not problems for transportation bc I am off and can take him

So far we ahve been bumming rides (just this week) and its annoying

We have thought about a car but dont want to fork out the money to buy it..or the money to keep two cars up

but..im nto sure we have a choice

there is NO public transportation where we are

Now, come summer (June) I will be off and we would like to wait until about August to get another car

Advice??

I don't know where you live or how far away his job is from where you live but what about a bike? I know that worked good for Marlita.

Congrats Kimmy on the grades, that is a huge accomplishment, B or no B, remember you are wife, a mother with two small kids and work full time, shoot if i thought i could manage that , i would probably laminate my damn report card and wear it on my shirt for ALL to see.

Philly yeah i got the 30% off, that is my motivation to spend.

Ells, i love to shop.. i get some kinda high off of spending money and being broke :hehe:

So true and I'd be proud of that too if I were that busy. I don't know how working parents do all that!

I think my mister will be getting around on my bike too....good thing it's blue and white and not a bunch of girly colors!

Question for anyone who can answer: How long should I wait for a response to my e-mail to the embassy to set an appointment for mister to drop off his DS-230? One day, a few days, a week, longer?

They are somewhat good at getting back with responses within the timeframe to set. I think its 5 business days. Try and wait until thats up then start sending them another request. What did you put in the subject line?

I was not very patient so I would only wait 2 or 3 days, if it wasn't for Islandwoman it would have been 1 day or less. LOL!

I feel ya neither was I. Yea 2 or 3 days is good. Try checking your spam folder. I would always get the responses sent there for some reason.

I'm not very patient either! I wrote them Tuesday and they only answered PART of my e-mail but totally disregarded the last short paragraph on scheduling an appt. But they did write back fairly quickly which surprised me....it was the same day. I sent a 2nd e-mail on Tuesday once again inquiring about setting up an appt and they didn't respond. So, I wrote them again yesterday and changed the subject line to read 'Appointment to drop off DS-230' and haven't gotten a response. I'm wondering if I just need to wait a few more days and contact them early next week or if I should bug them every day until they respond.:innocent:

Nothing even in my spam folder....darn it!

I would say if you don't hear from them by Monday you should send another email and on the subject line make sure you put 3rd request for appointment to drop off DS-230 KNG#####. Make sure you put your case number in the subject line.

Thanks! I'll do that. I was wondering if I should've put the case # in the subject line....maybe they ignore e-mails that don't 'follow protocol' or something.

Put 2nd or 3rd Urgent request in all caps. Something to catch their attention along with the KNG # in the subject line. I think they give you that # once the consulate receives your info. Remember there are a lot of ppl emailing them so try to make your email subject line standout without being too pesty. I remember getting a response from some hater B and I think she purposely took forever answering my question and she didn't even really answer my question. The embassy is not predicatable at times. I remember getting some responses on the same day, 5 days later and even on a sunday before! Yea I emailed them a lot but they were pretty quick about answering my emails.
