Philly that jogging will get you right each time, i do a 10 mile road race here in my town every year and have for 2 years now, we start training in april and we work up to 10 miles, by running weekly until september, i did it to challenge myself and let me know whatever i seriously set my mind too i can do.. when i crossed the finish line the first time after 3 hours( cause that is how long it took me) you should have seen me, it was like i was in the movie rocky, a huge great accomplishment, but once i quit moving running, i damn near had to crawl to my car, i smelled like a sweaty bear and i slept for 4 hours straight once i made it home...:)

WOW JAhoney that is wonderful you are my hero! I would love to be able to work up to a 10 mile run! LOL @ the Rocky movie visual and crawling to your car. :star: :star: :star: :star: That is a HUGE accomplishment :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: did anyone take pics?

I also like the red dress in white for you , as you mentioned that you wanted a tea length dress previously. This dress is more of a conventional and sassy look. I would like to see a pic of it in white so I can see how the adornments look in that color. Is it sequins or beads and is it lined? That could be a definite factor in the heat but the lining can always be removed? Also the right accessories and wear your hair in an up sweep, could set this look off nice as well.

I don't think they have a pic in white but you can 'zoom in' for a better look. I'm not responsible for anyone 'online shopping' for the next hour after going to this link!:innocent::lol:

I just looked at the pic its definitely sequins, it doesn't appear to be lined either and the fabric is breathable. which dress do you think you would be more comfortable in?

I need advice - I usually stay in local hotels in Mobay but I want something a bit nicer since I'll be with the kid. Any recommendations for one night, one that preferably has a decent restaurant on or near the property?

Jonesie---wagwan! Hubby and I have stayed several times at El Greco. 'Manya turned me on to that place. It's definitely cool, and comfortable and reasonably priced. Always clean & spacious, and they have a restaurant on-site if u wanna eat there. It's right on the strip, about 5 minutes from the airport. I think it's about $110/night for a room w/ a full kitchen. Cheaper if you just want the room w/o kitchen.

I think I'd probably be more comfy in the cotton (pink) dress, especially if it's 100+ degrees outside! I'll have to think about it a little more and see if I must have it. I'm too lazy to find places like David's Bridal and go out shopping. I also don't think any wedding gown places have anything but sleeveless dresses.... So it go....

HEy ladies,

i signed up for the 50 million pound, deal but seriously i had to tell myself it wasnt a diet but moreso a lifestyle change, you cannot imagine the elation of getting on the scale and realizing that you dropped 3 pounds, when i havent been able to lose 3 pounds in 16 years...LOL.. i just had to get my mind set, the only thing is my old insecurities will not allow me to give or throw away my old clothes when i was a bit heavier cause we all know how it can creep back on us.. hell i had this pair of really cute shorts i wore in JA, like 9 months ago and they fit, man i took them in january without re trying them on and i looked like i had on a diaper, they were all saggy in the butt....LOL

EXCELLENT! You go girl!

I don't know what you're willing to spend and I only have one recommendation since I don't know any Mobay hotels. We stayed one night at Coyaba Resort....it was very nice! A little on the pricey side but had everything on the property and was about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi.

Thanks Ells

I've read mixed reviews but the kitchen is a huge plus - thanks will check this also.

Hola Senioritas! I've been catching up on reading and you guys have inspired me (although I should have been inspired before!) You can't imagine how much I've heard over the last 2 or 3 months, "Tamisha, you're putting on weight... " Not only from JA family, but from family and friends here too! Granted, the men like it  , but I'm still tired of hearing it. The sad thing is I used to be very active in the martial arts, so I stayed in pretty good shape, but the last 6 months or so, I have not been active like I used to. At one point I had stopped eating beef for several months, and I noticed that helped alot, and added more veggies to my diet...so, I guess I need to get back on the goodfoot! :star: I'm going to check out Dr. Ian's website, because I've heard alot of good thing about the Fat Smashy Thingy and I think that, or something similar to it, is what I wanna try. I also have in my mind to do the avonwalk for Breast Cancer here in Charlotte in Oct, so I figure I need to get prepared for that. My mother is a survivor--1 year, 7 months!

Cotton will be a lot cooler than "mystery" fabrics for sure

Thanks for the link Ells...I'mma go look pon it now! You know, I've never really championed a cause b4. I mean, I've given to local charities here and there, and done occasional donations to organizations that promote BC awareness, but when my mother was diagnosed, I decided right then and there, that I would do whatever I could to support the research to find a cure for breast cancer.

HEy ladies in regards to the book by dr Ian, that is what i did and i lost 20 pounds, it was hard but i did it over the course of 2 1/2 months, i did the FAT SMASH... they say not to check your weight because there is the 9 day induction phase and Shem is right the first 3 or 4 days is hard, but once you detox your system im telling you the weight falls off and it doesnt come back, it is kind of like once you adopt those eating styles, you dont want to mess up.. it is the only and i do mean ONLY diet that has pulled weight off of me other than stress. I have probably gained back 5 pounds, cause whem im PMSing i tend to eat everything but seriously it works.. my arms got smaller, my midsection got smaller, thighs the whole 9... i will probably do it, to get into my wedding dress

Hi JaHoney

That is great you changed to a healthy lifestyle, I joined 50millionpounds.com last year and lost 60 lbs but i gained 18 lbs of it back since then when I stopped jogging everyday and overdosing on banana chips to due to stress LOL. I am getting back on the ball now since the weather is breaking and I can jog daily and go back to eating fish and veggies and NO CARBS! I want to lose an additional 50 lbs this time around. Does anyone want to start a weight loss team here on VJ and track through 50millionpounds.com so we can support each other?:yes:

Congrats. I just joined the 50millionpounds.com. I'm game for a support group.

I bought my August tickets yesterday

I got our tickets on Sunday

Happy Tuesday everyone

Very exciting Jonsie...always feels good to have the tickets purchased!

My trip last year was to reconnect with family, but this year's trip I'm going to ATI/RTI and I can't wait. I haven't had "me" time since I had Gavin so I am thankful for MIL to keep him while I spend a few days in Negril.

Good luck to you with your upcoming interview

:dance::dance::dance:

Oh wait, I won't get to meet Gavin :crying:

Quana - Gavin went to JA last summer and had too much fun. He really enjoyed himself. I'm going to try and take him for Christmas (his bday is Christmas Eve) if the fares are reasonable.

Shemmy, you might see him - I think we're gonna spend our last night in Jamaica in Montego Bay since I opted for an early departure (we leave at 11am, so we'll reach back home at 6pm) and want to be close to the airport. Where will you be? You know after ATI I'm going back to St. Ann.

Okay..we'll stay in touch.

As Mrs. Palmer mentioned, we love El Greco. Nothing special but it's comfortable and love the apartment style. Out of my 10+ stays there...had no problems. Once the room wasn't clean but someone took care of it right away. Love eating breakfast overlooking the ocean. I've stayed at most hotels in Mobay and this is my favorite non-AI and Royal Decameron is my favorite AI.

Sus - told me about the place www.polvista.com. We may check it out in August.

That's great Honey.
