Hey Ya'll I have a question about camera phones...

Have any of you sent picture messages from Digicel to a US phone? does it work?

He wants to buy a camera phone so we can send pictures back and forth, but he sent me a wallpaper image the other day and it never come through to me. So we are worried that the camera phone won't work even if he buys it... :help:

I haven't tried from JA but whenever I try to send pic messages to Digicel they fail. I couldn't get any picture messages from home when I was in JA either.

Thanks for the info Island, what a bummer... :(

Hi Guys,

I am finally Mrs. D. We got married yesterday at the courthouse. I am sooooo elated and relieved. Now to the next step. What should I be applying for besides the EAD and AOS. He already received his SS card. Thanks everyone!

To those of you who use multiple chips (SIM cards) to talk.... what does your SO carry the chip in?

Your SO probably needs the original one for his regular calls, cause that's the # other people use. But then when talking to you, he puts in the chip with minutes on it. ....but what is he storing the unused chip in so that it doesn't get lost or damaged in his pocket?

Girl, he lost his original chip a little over a week ago

He was able to get the number transfered to a new chip, but all his contacts were lost :(

I have been thinking about sending him this memory card holder keychain I have...

I found a keychain like it here: http://usbflashstore.stores.yahoo.net/satrcake.html

I also found these at Walmart.com

That's a good idea - A keeps his extra in his wallet. We've had to replace it before because it got damaged banging around in there.

I know - it would be great to be able to send photos that easily.

Hey guys!

Things are going great!

Hubby is settling in nicely. He had 3 days to settle in at home and then today and tomorrow he is working with our friends in getting the seeds planted for their greenhouse

Last night we (HE) had an interview with a local Dr. and his wife for a 2nd ranch hand on the alpaca farm (it is mostly farm work..not as much alpaca work) and starts Tuesday!

It isnt GREAT pay and he will have to work Saturdays and and a few hours on Sundays :( ....but other than that it seems a perfect fit!

We are just glad to get him ANY job in this economy! and so quickly!

Also- we have NO public transportation so M will need a car quick. Some family has a 199 Mitsibishi Eclipse, standard for sale because they are having another baby and its too little..does anyone have any opinions or reviews on that car

I want him to get a truck, but he wants a small car (whatever) and the plus side is it gets better gas mileage

ok. well, I see we have quite a few newbies!

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Sounds like a great start! Please keep us posted on hubby's adjustment. I can say that's a concern for me, so any experiences you can share would be great! Congrats to you both!

Afternoon Ladies!

I can't believe the price of these shots! Good thing we were able to locate his shot records but I am sure he will need more. @ 25.00- 100.00 a POP that is highway robbery! Well we are going to make the appointment tomorrow in Kingston and that is the 1st question I will be asking.

i'm anticipating having to spend alot of money on these shots becuz i dont think my fiance has had any recent ones..he's probally gonna need every one a dem ..

Have him start working on it now - little by little.

yea i know ..he needs to.. i'm gonna ask him about it ..so how is he going to know which one he needs? are they gonna tell him what ne needs when he gets his interview letter??

I was gonna post but Sus found that info and that's pretty much it.

It's on the instruction page of the medical form that comes in Packet 3:

http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/KNG-ME...L-0001-0707.pdf

and lists:

Mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, influenza type B, hepatitis B, varicella (chicken pox), pneumococcal, and influenza

Shanette...have you tried looking on Ebay or amazon.com?

Does anyone know if our SO needs a interview letter to get the shots? Can he just go to a hospital and get one? I wouldn't mind if Lance could get a couple every now and then so he won't have to get so many at one time.

No letter needed for the shots...he can go to any clinic in his area to get them. Just make sure he gets record of all the shots he got so he can take that with him to the medical exam. It's a good idea for him to start getting them done ahead of time...will probably save some $$ in the long run. That's what I'm having my SO do anyway.

This is good to know! I've been wondering about this, as Rasta has know idea what shots he's had. Remembers having one for school. Since he doesn't really speak with his mother he doen't even know where to go for records. I'm sure most required he hasn't had, so we'll get started on those at a local clinic.

I have been wondering .... There are religious waivers/exceptions in regards to shots for children. Has anyone ever looked into that as being a reason for not having shots in JA? There are Jahovahs Witness there and I beleive they don't allow thier members to have medical treatment or shots>>>??? And if so, will this fly with the government in regards to Immigration.... It is very legal here in the states to not have shots because of your religious beleifs, ANYONE KNOW???? hmmmmmm
