*whew*

Ya'll did a lot of chatting today  as usual

Island and Ells :)

I know it is crazy

I have ALWAYS been a phone talker, I am so happy to have found someone who is just as bad (sometimes worse) than me about chatting..

I never knew a man could chat so much :luv:

He works graveyard security and with the time difference, after I put my son to bed is midnight his time and things are usually slow for him. So we spend 2 sometimes 3 hours talking at night... Then he calls me every morning when he gets home to wake me up and sometimes we will talk another hour before I drag my butt to the shower :innocent:

All the while I am looking up things on VJ and other sites for information on what we need to do, what will help smooth the process... What kind of jobs he could do, what our horoscopes say LOL...

Lawd we talk about everything...

So he is going to get his passport (((Ells))) he said he found out today that he does have to go to Kingston for it.

Sounds like I am lucky, he has his vaccination record  that's a lot of 'jooks" and not the good kind :innocent::rofl:

Ells that ya'll found his sisters shot record makes me think he must have had shots too... right? If his family got the sisters shots done why not his too? I say do what someone else did (sorry I can't remember is who) and have him check with the local clinic?

Lawny you made me bust out a laugh bout how people did gwan when the phone lines come in...

Hello ladies

Sol, you up past your bedtime?...LOL.. oh yeah your off on Fridays right?

Hi Honey! What's wrong? Why the sad face and appleton?

Cocomania and pineapple are my friends tonight....just forked over $400 to get my car fixed & it wasn't covered under my warranty!

Question about the shots..( sorry if i'm driving everyone crazy ) : if my SO doesnt have a shot record what should he do ?? just go to a local clinic and get them ?? if yes..how are they gonna know what he needs ?? ( confused ) !!

Don't worry, that's what we're all here for. He should go to a local clinic cause it will be cheaper than doing it at the place he has the medical exam. Just look back a few pages at the links and the lists provided and he can take that list with him. They'll determine which shots out of them he'll need. Maybe a bunch or maybe just a few....

I always recommend the Jamaican make the appointments. Funny how the price goes up once they hear an American voice. Two of my friends had serious problems with Dr. Banbury's office.

What kind of problems Shemmy? I was starting to think we were just dealing with our bad luck, but now that I hear others are having problems maybe it's not just us.

This is the ####### we have been dealing with - When he was in the bus accident he lost the envelope that had the police report and medical in it, but didn't notice. When I was prepping for interview I was putting everything together and it was gone. So we were blue slipped for the police report and medical. Embassy called Branbury to get a copy of the medical and A got another police report and dropped it off on February 11. He left his passport and paid the DHL fee that day too.

Branbury's office couldn't find his medical - so he needs to do another one. He goes (trip 1) - they won't do it without his passport. Embassy even calls Branbury's office and he still won't do it so back to embassy he goes to pick up passport. Goes the very next day (trip 2) Branbury won't do it without the interview letter! I faxed him down a copy of our interview letter and a copy of the email from the embassy that he had an appointment for yesterday to drop off a completed medical (which he should've had by then!!). Goes again (trip 3) - they call the police on him because they think he is trying visa fraud!! At the police station they talk to the embassy who says yes, he just needs a medical. Police tell Branbury that and they say come back. He was already late for work so he said he would be back the next day. He goes next day (trip 4) and they say no medical (doc has now talked to the embassy 3xs!!) - go to the embassy and get a blue slip. So now he has to wait till Tuesday the 10th to get a blue slip. He has made 4 trips to Branbury's office for all this ####### and working on 2 trips to the embassy - meanwhile missing work. His supervisor is all up in his face about missing all this time from work.

But on another note I will say this again, the embassy has been very helpful with all of the ####### we have been going through.

That is just CRAZY!

I would set Lawny out in front of his office :lol:

morning all..

honey.. i haven't used the rosemary.. the natural hair shop i go to, everyone is just always talking about it.. it must be some liquid or creme form cuz they say u put it on ur scalp..i will try and find out more..

welcome sam and brooke, and welcome back journee how are things at the yaad??

good news tre.. GOD is so good and always on time!

glad everything is going well shrewdie... congrats to hubby on such quick success in the job arena.. told u ur blessings were gonna be bigger than ur trials LOL

as far as moving to JA, when i first met Roger that is all that was on my mind, i figured working for the government, i could get a good paying job there w/ immigration or at the us embassy or consulate (i wasnt made for self employment) once my kids graduate in another 10 years, I would be OFF..

BUT being the way I am, the comforts of home are really gonna be hard to give up, those things Lawny mentioned we really take for granted. We will be fine w/ just building a house there and maybe going back for long stays in our retirement years.

jawi or sus...u around?? have u heard the new movado?? gil mentioned it was released and I was wondering if it was good..

BE BLESSED ALL...

yeah shrewd, go to the auto section of msn or yahoo and u can get consumer reviews.. i always check there..

Mavado has so many new songs...I'm not as versed as I normally am...I don't even listen to music much anymore....this damn neck pain. If you are talking about High Under...I love it. I didn't like his performance on Rock the Runway though. He leaves a lot to be desired in his live performances IMHO. I will stay a diehard Kartel fan in that regard.

http://www.emoneygram.com for sending money... much cheaper than Western Union.

So I'm hearing a lot of people implying that Dr Branbery (sp?) should be avoided. Does anyone recommend a better, approved, place to go?

i've never used moneygram....and ppl in ja do not want to use them either..i know for a reason but not sure

we used dr.banbury..absolutely no problem..none

there is also andrews medical in kingston...if u don't feel comfy with dr.b

dats right Kimmy, too damn rass expensive...you can get same day with Western Union or one of the other ones, back in the day you couldn't get same day pick up

mi memba dat..WU so easy for me..ONLINE WIRE...heheee..can u say lazy..shoot fi di same price i don't have to leave my house

I have used both...I loved MoneyGram...but they started requiring some other type of id to pick up and wouldn't accept passport as id....go figure. They are alot cheaper that WU. WU charges me a starting rate of $20 to send money online...$14.99 if I send from a location...and $35 over the phone. It is total bull. Then, when I try a NY, FL, CA zipcode the fee is like $9.99. I hate them...but A swears by them.

We had smooth sailing with Dr. Banbury too. But if I was you I wouldn't chance it and use someone else. Who wants to go through all that stress. Moneygram's payout is less than you actually send them. I've never used them and am scared of using diff services when it comes to my money. I work too hard for it. With WU its dollar for dollar

This is NOT true about MoneyGram...I have used them for over two years. I know the exchange rate and how to check that payout is the equivalent of what I actually sent.

Hello ladies

Sol, you up past your bedtime?...LOL.. oh yeah your off on Fridays right?

Hey Jawi, how ya feeling?

appleton and pepsi are my friends tonite :(

Hey Mama. I'm okay...had a day of pampering (long overdue...I so wish I could get a good massage) I know you are missing D...but soon you guys will come together again. I wish I had some Appleton.

Question about the shots..( sorry if i'm driving everyone crazy ) : if my SO doesnt have a shot record what should he do ?? just go to a local clinic and get them ?? if yes..how are they gonna know what he needs ?? ( confused ) !!

Your best bet is to try his last school of record. He has to have shot records to enter school. I lost my oldest son's vaccination records, and was able to get a copy from the school. Then, I took it to his doctor and had them add all his recent shots to the record.

I was about to say the same thing. Damien didn't have a vaccination record and only got 2 shots. We just paid what was needed for the interview...which varies. Most of us didn't go to clinics first but it to each's own.

Don't make this process more stressful

We use MoneyGram too with no problems.
