ELLS; that's why I have a BIG mouth! It's very fustrating. To get the paperwork on my sister's divorce, we had to make a special trip to Jamaica after we had paid for delivery service the attorney kept giving us the run around. So, we took an early flight to ja and we showed up at his office in Mobay, parked outside and waited for him to get there. Of course his secretary called the police before he got there and of course I had to create a seen. I showed the police our receipts and the documents that he said he going to produced and failed to do so, I threaten to go file a complaint at the courthouse house in Mobay and that's when the frigger budge. I told him we wanted our money back if he can't provide the services. We got the paperwork and we still filed a complaint...DAMN RASS THIEF no wonder his rass had to run to canada!

Night Lawny! Thanks for yet more good advice!

TL;

you're not the only one that had problems with Dr. "bc"Barngraby. My SO's friend had his medical in October, he lived in Mobay but they were booked out so he had to go to Kingston and he was told he had to go back to pick it up, when he went back, they couldn't find it. He waited 3 hours for them to look for it but they told him they're too busy and to come back the next day. Imagine, you come from 'bay to Kingston and they telling you to come back. He picked it up the day of his interview.

That's the thing - like no one has anything to do but wait on them. And they know they have something you need desparately.... A has been working double shifts and over nights to get the next day off to try to deal with it. Living in Kingston, working in Maypen so 2 hr commute each way. I asked today when was he going to sleep more than an hour??? It will be amazing if he makes it through this without getting sick.

Poor A! Lord give him strength! :innocent:

Ells who did you talk to at Mobay Hope. I had no problems there the lady was so nice to me she even called me back twice because she didn't want to keep me on hold know that I was calling from the U.S. When I went back in June I went to visit her and she gave me a fruit basket. Do you remember who your spoke to. Now, if it was the receptionist she's a (I can't even type it)...when I went up there I had to let her know that her job is not that serious to be giving people BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Yeah, it was the receptionist I spoke to....she was pleasant enough but not overly helpful or anything. Maybe I should try talking to one of the medical staff??

Does anyone know if it is possible to wire money in USD to your SO? I was thinking for the $95, he'd get a better deal than if I wired him money and it was converted to JA....I'd have to wire quite a bit more now to make that amount.

Ells - you can send it Western Union. If he has a bank account you can wire from your bank to his bank but that's more expensive than Western Union.

It will probably have to be WU then....as long as I can send him some USD I'll be satisfied.

Ells it's too expensive to wire money

Is that different from WU? Anyhow, I meant WU or one of those types of services.

Kimmy, I remember when we had to go all the way to Mobay to pick up Western Union...then they moved it to Falmouth, then closer to us in Duncans or Clarks Town...mi rass mi membah when the pastor was the only one with a house phone and that was in the late 80s...what a stress...

look I was in Jamaica when they were wiring the district for phones and let me tell you, people tun fool fool, dem just a call fi just a call

I think 'technology' is novel for everyone at first.

We use passwords for Western Union because too much madness is going on in Mobay. People showing up with fake IDs they watch and see how many times you show up to collect money, some people get robbed after dem leave it's just crazy.

I don't think he'll have any records from school so he has to start fresh. I've asked him and he doesn't recall getting any vaccinations/shots.

Question about DS-230 delivery and interview dates. I know it varies in every case BUT, about how far away do you(anyone?) think an interview date would be from the date they receive the 230? I am eager to have an interview but I actually want it to be after May 21st. That's when my semester is over and I'm free to go there for it. I'm afraid if I take any more time off for this semester, I won't get a good grade in the class so I'd like to finish and then go for the interview.

Dillion was the most recent K1 - check her timeline and make a guess from there.

Also, I only remember getting 1 shot and that was when I was like 10 - so memory may not be the most reliable.

Thanks! Making note.

Sometimes I wish I had a little more backbone like you do when it comes to things like dealing with that lawyer. I tend to be nicer than I'd like and at times people think they can push me over. Not until I get mad and lose my cool do they realize they can't!

Looking at Dillon's timeline, it seems pretty fast! I think I'll have him drop the 230 mid-month in April...hopefully that will be far enough out where I can be done for the semester.

True, memory definitely fades but the way it sounds, he just hasn't been to the doctor for much in his life. We've gone through all the papers he has in his house and no record of his. Found his sister's vaccination record but not his. Also seems that a lot of his important docs have 'blown away in the storm'. Ah so ie go!

I don't think it was a WU issue - someone somewhere lifted my name and credit card # and tried to send money to someone through WU. And it was their verification calling my credit card company who then tried to contact me that saved me from losing $1,1000. Of course, WU wouldn't tell me a thing bout who did it...

A true dat - lol!! I remember talking to A after one storm (before we were dating) about the roof blowing off the house and his clothes going flying around the yard and him chasing then. Now I'm sure it wasn't funny but the way he was telling it I was busting a laugh...
