Hi all,

My kids and I are going to the Phils.( mid April '09). I am searching any cheaper tickets to the Philippines. If any of you will be flying to the Philippines and found good price airfare maybe you can share where or what website you purchased it from?

I am looking for an airline consolidator, I heard they usually sell cheaper tickets compare to travel agency. I live in Florida and looking to buy 3 tickets.

I have another question. What is the better way to use if you are a dual citizen, american passpport or philippine passport?

I applied for dual citizenship and if its cheaper to buy one way ticket using Phil. passport then maybe I will use it. I don't have an exact date for my return( I'm planning 3mos-4 mos) but if emergency come up( child get sick) I may come back sooner.

Which is better, to buy an open tickets or just pay for the reschedule fee?

Salamat po!

check this out: www.bookingbuddy.com

you can compare the prices and get the cheapest tickets for you and your kids.I think it does not matter what passport you are going to use and since you are balikbayan you are allowed to stay in PI for at least 1 year. The benefit of being a US passport holder or dual citizenship is that you don't have to apply for re-entry permit if you plan to stay outside US for longer time.

Sometimes your local agent can do a better deal than the online stuff.

There's a website I found its www.airlinecosolidator.com I don't know if its what you looking for, the cheapest ticket was 857 one way if you are departing from TAMPA? I plan to for vacation too after I got my new green card hopefully soon.I can't really purchase tickets for me and for my baby until my new gc arrives. If you are traveling with your kids you also need to bring their birth certificates, your husband's letter of consent (notarized) if he's not traveling with you and you might be asked for return tickets at the immigration unit in manila because you're traveling with US citizen children.I believed its wiser to get roundtrip tickets too for discounts and less hassle for you when you return.

Thank you for the head's up Bituin. I never thought of bringing their B-certificate since when we applied for our kids passports both of us were there (so my husband know that I'm taking the kids abroad..:D)

I am waiting also for my dual citizenship oathtaking before I go. The Phil. Embassy guy told me it will be held in Tampa during Filipino Festival.

Are you from Tampa? Do you know when will be the Phils. Festival ( exact date )celebration?

I'm fron San Vicente. It's a booming town because they want it to become a tourism hub of Palawan.

I am already a US citizen. I am waiting for my oathtaking for Phils. dual citizenship. I applied last yr. but I did not recieved any calls from Phils. Embassy about the oathtaking sked. When I call them they said it was already done. I was PISSED!!..lol. I got over it, then I re-applied last month. Hopefully, someone will call me about the schedule this time. That's why am asking about Phil. Festival exact date. (I thought you're from Tampa) :D

Thank you Star :D,

I always called them to follow up the schedule but they told me that someone will call.

Honestly, it's hard to deal with Phil. gov't. employee even...it seems that they don't really care.

About my application last year, I told them that nobody called me for my oathtaking schedule that's why I missed it....asus, ako pa ang sinisi na baka raw husband ko naka recieved ng call, asked c mr. wala naman daw. :( ewan!

You are welcome :) sorry that you had to deal with those kind of people. Your consulate is in miami?I tried to open their website and its seems not working can't open it.Why they cannot give you the exact date and time of the ceremony that's ridiculous!

Try this:

www.mangotours.com (they're the same as www.flytomanila.com)

Their prices are somewhat more lower than on the other sites I've checked.

If you use philippines passport, i would assume that you have to pay philippines travel tax worth 1600+. Better use US passport. :)
