Hello guys & gals!!

We got married by the law (civil) and church in Mexico and I came to this country with a K3 visa and now I am processing my adjustment fos status (become legal resident). But my question is if my marriage in another country like Mexico will give me all the obligations and rights that a marriage in the United States will give me?

It is plenty recognized like if we got married here in USA? or should I get marry here?

The United States recognizes any legal marriage no-matter where it took place.

Simply attach a copy of marriage cert, and an English translation of the cert to the I-485.

Note many on K-3 simply delay filing I-485 until closer to 2 years of marriage, but no more than 1 year after visa medical, the reasonong for this is if the AOS is approved after 2 years of marriage the resulting card will be 10 year un-conditional card.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

They don't need to worry about that, they married in 2004. They will get the 10-yr greencard.
