Hi all,

My kids and I are going to the Phils.( mid April '09). I am searching any cheaper tickets to the Philippines. If any of you will be flying to the Philippines and found good price airfare maybe you can share where or what website you purchased it from?

I am looking for an airline consolidator, I heard they usually sell cheaper tickets compare to travel agency. I live in Florida and looking to buy 3 tickets.

I have another question. What is the better way to use if you are a dual citizen, american passpport or philippine passport?

I applied for dual citizenship and if its cheaper to buy one way ticket using Phil. passport then maybe I will use it. I don't have an exact date for my return( I'm planning 3mos-4 mos) but if emergency comes up( child get sick) I may come back sooner.

What is better, to buy an open tickets or just pay for the reschedule fee?

I used Orbitz to book my flight to Vietnam, but I got to the best price via cheapflights.com. Here is an example of their fares from Orlando to Manilla:

Just play around with the dates in Orbitz. I got a ticket to Vietnam for $1018, then changed my dates for $135 more, plus an additional $115 because the date I chose was more expensive. The ticket was still "only" $1268.

I think changing the date, if necessary, would be your best bet. Flights originating from Asia tend to be pricey from what I've seen.
