I believe that even though we know whwn his term will end they're not allowed to put it on the statue until it has offically ended.

Simply because he isn't out of office yet. Sometimes people consider it rude to put an end date on something even though everyone knows that's when it ends, because it's like rubbing the persons face in it.

Thats what I was thinking. You never really know when his term will end...we just know when it is expected to end.

i guess that makes sense -plus it wouldn't make much sense to give him credit for being president all the way through 2009 when its only 2006......
