AOS Interview

My husband and I had our interview this afternoon at the San Francisco office. We were scheduled at 2:15PM but we were called at around 3PM already. It was quite a long inteview, probably took 20 minutes.

The officer asked me first about the information on the forms I submitted - full name, birthday, address, husband's birthday, etc. Then he asked my husband how we met. Both my husband and I bought properties when were still dating and we live in my condo now. The officer was surprised that we didn't add each other on the title. Honestly that didn't cross our minds, we didn't think it was that necessary since we're married, anything that's his is mine, what's mine is his.. we didn't have a prenuptial agreement. We don't have a joint bank account and the officer was looking for that. We just got married last February although we were living together since April 2005. We just didn't think that was necessary. I have access to his online accounts and I know his PIN on his ATM, etc. He mentioned to open a joint bank account so it'll be easier next time when we have the removal of condition interview.

The officer didn't get my EAD card but he took my I-94. He said he will need to check with his supervisor about my application and to wait for the green card in 2 weeks. I asked why he didn't stamp my passport, he said if he stamps it, that means it's approved and that I don't need to travel anywhere soon anyway (he asked this earlier) so there's no need to have the stamp, I just have to wait for the green card in two weeks.

Now, I'm confused... he told us to wait for the green card in 2 weeks but he also said he has to consult his supervisor. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think they're doubtful about our case or is it just a procedure to check with the supervisor and our case is approved?

Wow,another AOS story that is totally different from ours, except that they took the 1-94.

I'm sorry you didn't get it approved today, but I'm sure you'll get it soon! It's really good to hear someone's experience at the S.F. office, because that's where we'll be having our interview.
