I have been tortured by uscis :bonk: for the last 17 months my file is in chicago but they give me no decision on my 1751 on top of that they have been giveng me two months valid stamp of i551 . Can some tell why this is happening with me ?

thats crazy, you are well outside the processing time, i am sure u have already done so, but you should contact them and say you are outside of the processing time.

Mailed N-400 March 6th via priority certified mail and Rec'd 9th (confirmation by USPS)

I have sent you a private message.

you need to contact the CIS ombudsman. But cases with interviews like yours take one than a year.

Why did you get an interview? There may have been something in your case or its just a regular quality check.

Have tried contacting your state's senator to get them involved. It is good that you have applied for citizenship, if you haven't been approved by the time you come up for your citizenship interview they will have to make a decision on your I-751

Yeah your right a trip to the senators office can work wonders. But not all the senators respond in the same way, it depends from city to city.

Service centers take 3 months to 1 year to process applications. But putting an interview into the process may take longer.

thanks guys for the reply.... i have contacted my senator ####### durbin congresswoman showasky written letters to dhs scretary janet napolitano and the president barack obama in addition i have filed the dhs 7001 with ombudsman lets hope i get some results with all this

one thing which can be the delay creator would be that i travel to middleeast a lot ( almost eight times) do you guys think this might be the reason they might doing some extra background checks i dont what be the end of this i feel like filing the wom but i dont know when is the right time to file
