My question is, how do you know when to schedule the appointment at the Frankfurt consulate?

My Fiance is getting close to interview time. The Frankfurt consulate sent her a letter that they received her package from the NVC. She had to return a document where she says she has all her other requested documents/papers ready. But she has not sent them anymore actual papers like the police report, medical, etc...

Will they now send her the appointment date or does there have to be another exchange of information? What do we do now and how do you go about scheduling the appointment?

Also, can someone clear up what package 3 and 4 from the consulate are? Like I said she has received a letter so far but is that considered a package? as far as i know she is just supposed to take the items collected (listed below where applicable) with her to the interview. BUt i see all these topics about pkg 3 and 4, i hope we're not missing anything.

Evidence of financial support form U.S. citizen (I-134/I-864);

Hey.

What you received was Packet 3. Now your fiance has to wait for another letter where they will tell her when the interview will take place.

When did she send the Packet 3? "Normally" you'll receive the so-called Packet 4 (where they give you the exact interview appointment date) about a week later.

Has she had her medical yet?

Does she have all the required documents?

You basically have to wait once again until the embassy assigns you a date for the interview. Sadly not much you can do at this point.

Hope this was helpful. If you have any more questions let me know.

Thank you so much! I feel better now. She sent packet 3 about a week and a half ago.

Yes she has all her required docs except the medical exam which she will get after she gets her appointment date.

So I guess they give her a date based on their availability, not on a requested date? Can she write them and ask for something sooner?

thanks very much!!!

yes, they'll give her a date based on availability. She can try calling them but normally it doesn't do much. She can also email and ask if they've received her Packet 3 yet and if they have assigned her an interview date. That's what I did. i even asked for an earlier date but they just responded that it was the earliest date available.

I guess it's always worth a try though ;)

Keep us updated and how everything is going!!!
