Demonic possesion,is it real or fake ?

A friend of mine who is very born-again Christian says that it's real and that he's seen demons posses people I think it's fake.What do you think ?

What I'm saying is that one can't simply say they are possessed or claim someone else is possessed for it to be true, even among those who believe it is possible.

I know, but again, that's not my question:) You don't have to answer it, that's fine, but I keep wondering why you are answering what the Catholic church considers demonic possession as apposed to what you think it is.

Well, I think it's another spirit trying to occupy the same body, but I don't how one can be become possessed by another spirit.

Does that mean you think spirits are floating around somewhere on a physical plane? I guess that's the part I have trouble with. Thoughts are a product of physical phenomena, they don't exist without the mechanics that are required to produce them so I don't see how 'thoughts' can exist as some kind of separate entity. Not to mention the problem of what matter would spirits consist of, and wouldn't that be measurable in some way?

antimatter? I honestly don't know, but based on what I've read and seen with the supernatural, people have been able to record sounds and visuals of spirits.

I have never watched anything that has given a credible explanation for 'ghostly' phenomena - well at least one that has its feet in the paranormal However, specifically, no, I haven't seen Ghost Hunters.

Demons? Hardly. More likely someone with a serious psychological condition. I suppose if someone believed in demons, they could effectively convince themselves (and perhaps others) that demonic possession is not only possible, but has occurred to a friend or themselves.
