Demonic possesion,is it real or fake ?

A friend of mine who is very born-again Christian says that it's real and that he's seen demons posses people I think it's fake.What do you think ?

Quite honestly, it surprises me that people accept this line or reasoning at all. If people behave badly, the do so under their own recognisance and it's not because some 'devil' told them to, or possessed their body. I can see why, before we understood brain malfunction how this idea came about, but to believe it now? Seems pretty strange to me.

If you start with the presupposition that there are no supernatural beings, then there is no other conclusion you can come up with.

Where else would it bring you? If you start by defining God and demons as non-existent, then demonic possesion is by the same definition non-existent. You can't be possessed by something that doesn't exist.

There are people who don't believe in god, who do believe in ghosts for example. That is not my belief so I can't go into the why's and the wherefores.
